still, the shots are all gud enuff, considering how the italians defended..all defenders were concentrating on preventing any hole in their last line, while the midfielders, especially ambrosini, and sometimes even perrotta, always closed down on spain players who attempted long shots..

against such defending tactics, there are not many attackers who can manage accurate long shots..silva should be credited for his efforts

No yellow peril for Spain

Spain are not worried about wearing yellow shirts in their Euro 2008 semi-final against Russia despite it 'unlucky' in the country.

Spain are nominally the 'away' team in Thursday's match in Vienna and are obliged to wear their second strip which has been switched from traditional white to golden yellow.

The change for the match is necessary to avoid a colour clash because Russia, like Spain, wear red shirts.

"As far as I'm concerned it's fine, I'm used to playing in yellow," said midfielder Marcos Senna whose club Villarreal play in an all-yellow strip.

Spain team mate Xavi said he was also unconcerned about the colour change.

"If I remember correctly we played in yellow when we beat France (in a friendly in February, pictured) so I hope it brings us luck again," said the midfielder.

Spain coach Luis Aragones has an aversion to the colour. He could not abide Atletico Madrid's yellow away strip when he was coach of the Primera Liga side and refused to accept yellow flowers when Spain arrived at Dortmund for the 2006 World Cup.

The traditional Spanish superstition surrounding the colour is thought to have arisen because French playwright Moliere was said to have worn yellow when he collapsed on stage performing Le Malade Imaginaire in 1673. He later died at his home.

Ballack doubtful for final

Germany captain Michael Ballack is doubtful for Sunday's Euro 2008 final against Spain because of an injury to his right calf.

Ballack missed training on Friday back at the team's base in Tenero and he was unable to join the eve-of-match session at the stadium in Vienna on Saturday.

"Michael Ballack has not been able to train the past two days," Loew said.

"On Friday, he had a problem with his right calf, the muscle has hardened and today he couldn't possibly train so we'll have to see how it develops overnight." [+]

i dont know...went he on the field..i just feel really nervous..maybe i dont know more about him and didn't use to see he played..that y im wonding of Raul..he is talented and more experience then Guiza.. but he not in the Spanish team for the uero..
