u should try different brand first. drive slow during heavy rain also make the car aquaplanning at 70kmh, triggered ESC light at dashboard. The only praise for UC6 is relatively quite ride, but Wet, sorry it just poor.
*
i tried bro, i tried
from china tyres all the way to mid
i actually see nothing wrong with it

70KM/H...i've driven 90-100KM/H on heavy rain with even CC6
if it's not ok, i wouldn't go back after my CC5 expired
and my car doesn't even have any safety feature....no ABS, no EBD....no nothing

if someone tells me their car has until ESC, uses CC6 and will make the car aquaplane
i'm starting to think it's either the driver's problem or it's the driver's problem

one of my other cars also using CC6, few months ago from penang to KL it was raining like crazy....i was the only one overtaking and maintain speed of 90KM/H at fast lane on north south highway(everybody was too slow, i usually maintain middle lane only when dry)
this car only has ABS and EBD

maybe I'm used to PS3, PS4. Never had any issue on heavy rain, wet road.

michelin is crazy expensive in sabah
out of my budget in WM as well

u sponsor me michelin....i show u how to drive 130-140KM/H in heavy rain
no ABS, no EBD...no nothing

Michelin is expansive, but if u go to Oscar Bukit Kemuning, Shah Alam, the price is affordable. Just that nowadays, all tyres gone up the price. 2019, 235/45/18 PS4 for sedan, cost me RM550 per donuts at Oscar, if Kajang tyre shop, RM800+, the RP at that size is RM880+ iinm, The MC6 235/45/18 at rm500, so why not taking PS4 straight away.
*
which is why all my car's and tyres maintain 14-15 inches
175-195 profile

all around RM200 or less per donut

I am currently using Yokohama BluEarth ES2

So far so good though

Before this used CC5, Hankook Kinergy and Bridgestone EP300

Honestly all the tyres above boleh pakai la, nothing much differences
*
your list is very similar to every tyres i've used before thumbup.gif

I was driving 60km/h on PLUS and the car steered uncontrollably to the right when I drove through a small water puddle
*
don't think that's the tyre's problem already
better get the car checked out

when u hit the water puddle, don't hold on to the steering tightly...let the car do it's job

QUOTE(mcchin @ Jan 3 2023, 10:27 AM)
if he means that the car is pulled to one side when going through puddle
then it is normal

not sure if he want the car to stay straight when going through uneven traction surfaces

no tyres can fix that

Open diff more teruk when your right tyre hit water, increases resistance
thus all power sent to the less resistance side

so naturally will veer one side
*
yes, it's normal
but i think these people are expecting it to stay straight while ramming the water puddle while they just hold on the steering tightly...i don't know
that's why only very high end expensive tyres can satisfy them because the groove of the tyres push the water away very aggressively

you're supposed to let loose and let the car and tyre do it's job

QUOTE(ratloverice @ Jan 3 2023, 10:31 AM)
The car is just < 2 years old weh. Csc6 memang shitty
*
ive never driven a car with CSC6 yet
u let me drive it, i'll tell u what is the real problem because i don't think it's the tyre's problem at all

even the tyres i'm using right now are CC6, yokohama ES32 already plenty of grip for me

If you are talking bout cc6 on wet, that’s really terrible . But acceptable for a budget comfort tyres. I was on it. It’s not at the level of PS4 and PS5 I have used . Now back to PS5. Even Primacy 4 was way better in wet than CC6. However cc6 comfort and noise control is superb.
But cc6 in wet is really dangerous. Unless you drive like you are on ice
*
i actually not sure why people kept saying CC6 is really bad....can't afford to go PS4/5 either
that's like a whole nother league of tyres already

because some people say going 60KM/H already felt aquaplane(car with ESC somemore)
meanwhile my car with only ABS and EBD, i'm driving it 90-100KM/H plowing through heavy rain at north south highway on fast lane for almost 1 hour straight
if my car has PS4/5, i'll be doing way faster than that

so i don't really know if the tyres are the real issue or something else laugh.gif
so unless that person let me drove his car, i guess we'll never find out laugh.gif

Probably driving style . Some are used to driving slow in the rain probably 90-100 but anything faster in heavy rain cc6 is a disaster waiting to happen.
You put on PS4/5 or even primacy you can feel the immediate confidence.
Which is why both are in totally different leagues.
If you are a comfort oriented and really slow driver cc6 will serve its function. If you are slightly more spirited just get PS4/5
Nothing to debate both tyres are different.
Of course some troll will start saying he took corner in heavy rain at 200kmh in his cc6 just ignore these ppl
*
for me, it's plain simple
if those cars/driver can drive 140-160KM/H in dry on highway
WTF do they slowing down to 60KM/H when it rained?
is there a problem?...because if u can drive that kinda speed at dry....90-100KM/H during wet is supposedly very easy(and used to)
and complain the tyre is bad during wet? rclxub.gif

that's why i'm questioning are the tyres really the actual issue or is it something else? laugh.gif

because these C and D segment car are always speeding on the fast lane...i'm always 99% on the middle lane or sometime left lane because of the speed i drive
suddenly when it rained, if heavy enough...all these are move to the middle lane and drive so slow until i had to move to the fast lane and stay there because they're way slower than me

Try Goodyear assurance triplemax
Cheaper then pilot sport and not too bad

heavy rain drive so fast for what?
hit big puddle what tire also cannot channel water out fast enough and you will aquaplane
*
i've been offered the goodyear assurance triplemax before....but i went for yokohama ES32 instead
all because it's made in japan
maybe next time laugh.gif

actually i'm not afraid of water puddle at all so i'm not sure why people are so afraid of it...i'm only using eco tyres, u guys are using high end tyres laugh.gif

Lol apa ni you have so much hate woi. I was driving 60km/h sebab i was about to enter r&r ok? Also, since I already knew that the wet performance of csc6 is shitty, why would I drive 140-160 when it's raining? Logic mana?
*
no hate, just not logical
takkan whole row of cars for 20KM waiting to enter R&R? laugh.gif
and if u can drive 140-160 dry, why do u need to slow down to 60 during wet?...another illogical thing

are the tyres really the problem?

It is personal choice bhai.

Just like some like to rempit 100kmh in superman style.l, we can't say because they can then why we all not follow rite?
*
when it's a few it's personal choice
but if suddenly all of them....that kinda tells me it's not a personal choice already

because after the rain stopped, these are the same cars that pass by me again at the fast lane laugh.gif

It just tell that the group of ppl u met they are more cautious when raining. icon_idea.gif
*
if they're cautious, they're gonna even drive that fast during dry laugh.gif

they're not afraid of speed tix but they're afraid of rain
