If you want to know the specifications of all hardwares and wish to find the drivers for them, you can use Lavasys Everest.

Yeah.

HP Workstation Processor Heat sink fan is a blow out fan. the air got into the heat sink and goes out the other end, then the hot air goes through the back fan.

But not sure why, HP workstation design is pretty good too.
You can feel the air goes into the front (Quite strong)

I know because i use HP Workstation XW4100.

I decide to change it into HP Workstation xw8000

Always been a HP fan hehe

What's in a notebook ?
Nothing much to see, except some opening to allow upgrades....

These are profile of Dell Inspiron 1720 (upgraded to 2g ram, 17" display with 1920x1200 n cam)
One taken side-by-side to my desktop's display, Dell 24" Ultrasharp (relative sizing). The computer is rather (very!) large for a notebook, call it desktop replacement.

The top-panel exposed. got nothing to say here, there is a space and connector for something (top-right).
Love the keyboard, with separate numeric.

From underside, hmmm now I see that Dell's technician really in a hurry assemblying a PC. They missed a screw holding the hdd to the chasis (bottom right). Hell...the also (missed ??) the holding-panel for the second hdd. No choice then, have to buy the second hdd from them....haaaaah)

Top right, I know WLAN but WPAM FCM & WWAN FCM ??). Someone could shed a light here.

Middle-center, a very hi-tech cellophane-tape holding the battery down.
And the ram...no comment. Anyone, on the ram - quality ?

Yeah, suits the thread topic. Nice idea for showing-off (edu as well).

Bought exactly RM5915.00 (2007-09-23) with extra options :

Nvidia 8600M GT 256MB DDR2
9 cell battery
17" ultrashart with 1920x1200 display (a mistake, the font too small on native resolution, can enlarge though)
3 years warranty plus 1 year phone support
2g ram

else, standard

Hi Shinjun,

Can I check with you on the PSU for ur DELL 521? I noticed that you changed it from the stock PSU to a CM extremepower PSU. Do you faced any difficulty replacing/changing the unit? i was thinking of changing my E521 PSU.

Thanks.

Not that it was slow....simply cant boot up.PentiumD cpu. When they( 2 pc ) came it was perfect. But after few days of use it goes wrong.Cannot turn on for 10minutes.After that simply wont power up and have to wait for few hours.

Will give the pic next week.

Optiplex 745 SFF - ultra compact desktop with laptop components. even include a 230W power supply. nearly no cable management since there is so little cables and most are very short

the nicest desktop i've ever had. although thumbs down for upgradeablity

edit: C2D E6600, 1gb ram, gigabit network - the rest are pretty average. it was bought when C2D E6600 is just released. last time damn fast, now feel slow sudah when i started to use a xeon quad core running Win2k3 server.

Once you see inside an enthusiast PC then u look at branded PC, you will notice branded using many cheap component (fans, heatsink, PSU, mobo - no solid caps)

If want to save cost, they would not use FSP PSUs, would they?
