QUOTE(lightning_azure @ Dec 29 2022, 10:13 AM) thanks ktards for advise, seems like maybank is the most suitable for me, just want to do a few big ticket items ( fridge, tv ) n do 0% epp, at same time also build up my CTOS rating. never taken a loan You can get a 36-month 0% interest installment plan at Harvey Norman with Maybank CC if you spend a lot.

QUOTE(TheEvilMan @ Dec 29 2022, 10:20 AM) Ini dangerous, later debt pile up and ts ccris jadi ugly In my situation, I pay in full every month before the monthly statement by the 3rd, therefore there are no interest charges or fees. This post has been edited by eclectice: Dec 29 2022, 10:25 AM

QUOTE(Azran1979 @ Dec 29 2022, 10:23 AM) credit card is a trap. if you are makan gaji, do not apply for credit card. you can pay full monthly statement for a year, for two year, even 5 years, but you definitely cant pay full for FOREVER. at one point in the future you will be trapped by credit card. this is how CC companies make profit. the so called "cashback and benefits" are just a cheap and small lure to trap you in the future. You must still establish a credit history with the financial system before the banks can grant you a loan. There is no way around this if you cannot afford to buy large purchases in full cash. They want to see how you manage your credits.

QUOTE(Azran1979 @ Dec 29 2022, 10:32 AM) to establish credit history you dont have to USE the cc. CCRIS only look at 0 or 1 in the report. they dont count scores like in the US. CCRIS just a bare credit info report; CTOS gives the score to the banks with more details

Maybank just increased my credit limit to MYR25,000, which I don't mind because it allows me to purchase larger items and get more Maybank2U treat points. For over 20 years, I've had the same Maybank credit cards with an MYR6500 limit, no interest charges, and no problems maintaining a zero amount every month. I have the money to buy those items, but I want to keep my credit history in good shape.

QUOTE(haturaya @ Dec 29 2022, 10:52 AM) RM25k after 20 years? That's too little. Should ask for more. Haha, I am fine with it since I don't travel overseas a lot.
