I feel like screaming.

This is the THIRD time I buy a Nintendo Switch (first time jailbroken but messed up UI. second time damaged/dirty, and now settle for secondhand original)

Except now I try to use it and I find out that when I go to eShop tab on the Home page, I get a popup saying "Nintendo eShop cannot currently be used in your country/region.". I go to first tab for Nintendo Switch Online and I get popup message "This application cannot be used with the current country/region setting of your Nintendo Account. View the official Nintendo website for more information about Nintendo Switch Online".

So I go to Settings and try to change region. Everyone on the internet told me wonderful things about how Switch is region-free and playing games is no problem. I change to Europe. Still cannot access. I change to Australia/New Zealand. Still cannot access. I change to The Americas, still cannot access.

I feel like bashing the Switch against my wall. WHY ARE THEY ENTERING OUR MARKET SELLING AN INCOMPLETE PRODUCT THEN??????

Why is Switch so popular here? The prices of physical cartridge game is RM150++. I don't believe everyone is buying at that prices, but I also don't believe everyone is buying a jailbroken system just to play.

What is the solution to this problem? I can't buy legitimate games from the legitimate estore, it's like they want me to pirate their games then. Someone please tell me if you are able to use eShop or what other solution you found??

Just change your Account region to US or whatever other region that is supported.

And just FYi, Nintendo doesn't actually bring in the Switch into our country like Sony does for PlayStation. Is third parties that bring it in.

Just released this year iirc. If you visit it, can see it's very basic. Can't even buy anything from the site, it just points you towards Mmsoft, better known as Maxsoft.

I’ve not been buying games fom other region e-shop for awhile. Yesterday i tried to buy from US region, i cant use paypal & credit card because the paying services must be registered locally (US) Looks like is some region restriction issues. If i buy a gift card, will I be able to use it? I need to buy games from Japan & US

the restriction began a day or two after the local MY/SG EShop service commenced. in the official support FAQ there was in fact such notice that once a region has own eShop credit card payments from different region will not be accepted.

As for the gift/point cards yes they will work as you basically have to redeem them manually thru eShop page after you get the code and it will go in as topup value to your account balance
