Any one have experience ordering PC components like CPU, motherboard, RAM etc from Amazon.com US site? Want to upgrade PC and I notice price from Amazon is 30% cheaper than local price, but am worried it will not pass Kastam.

Yup, purchased many stuff before. But I used a freight forwarder service (Buyandship.com.my) instead of direct shipping.

Means, Amazon US -> B&S US address -> HK -> MY doorstep

How much is the extra charges on top for buyandship like? Plan to buy like USD 700 of stuffs....

kurogane if price cheaper like 40 to almost 50% just get it.

The only hassle is warranty. Some items have international warranty but it would take more time/efforts to RMA.

From my experience, non of my Amazon and other imported gadgets have problems so far (touch wood).
I also using buyandship services to import my stuff.

Nah not that cheap, its about 20-30% savings if i follow checkout price (incl shipping + tax deposit). But it is about RM 500 saved so I was considering whether to take the risk or not.

Might consider using buyandship to be safe too.

RM500 I think can consider.

But try make judgement if (touch wood) for RMA purposes  + tax can save the RM500.

May I know what parts?

Basically CPU + Mobo, got bundle deal on Amazon right now. Mostly savings on the mobo part because similar type of mobo is like double the price here right now.

Can try kot, another way is to declare less than the actual items and pray kastam wouldn't bat an eye.

It is always based on the size of the package (dimensions) as well as the weight of the package. So I can't really give you any guidance on it.

The last time I spent about USD$1.5k on car parts from the US, the shipping cost for Buyandship was around RM400+

sounds pretty reasonable actually, considering its car parts. PC parts are much lighter.

Lol so many misinformation.

Upon checking out, it'll list the total including a "import fees deposit" (if any).

After paying, any extra tax or duties during the shipping Amazon will cover. If less or none, they'll refund to your card.

Any problems or item missing you can return and it'll be covered by Amazon. I've even received my refund without needing to return an item before. Got my money back and kept the item. Probably cost them more to deal with the return.

(This applies to items fulfilled and shipped by Amazon only not third parties sellers on their site)

I just bought a cpu 2 months back during their sales. 0 tax.

Overall cheaper RM500+

Only bought CPU? What about buying mobo etc?
