Battery powered pumps do exist you know. tongue.gif.

But anyway, I have both a 12V and USB socket on my bike.

While I hadn't had to use my pump on my own bike to fix a flat, I have used it to top up my tyre especially after airing it down slightly for off road, and make short work of my bicycle tyres. Helped some guys stranded on the road and RnR before also. It's a good thing to carry when travelling...even if you do not need to use it.
And for those that do have a 12V power socket. Please turn the pump on without load, then only attach to your wheel. If you turn on the pump while attached to an semi inflated tyre, it might be too much a load and blow the fuse.
*
Battery pump is usually heavier and bigger than an inflator with no battery supply.
And no charging or battery damage issue. I always carry a 12v inflator with me on long trip.

QUOTE(zarakiken @ Jan 31 2023, 09:42 PM)
For the USB and 12V socket you DIY or let shop do??? I tot of DIY using Y connectors so no need to strip any wiring…
*
Direct plug to the battery without going through any sockets or fuses.
That way the pump will have enough current.

Later once I'm back I'll post a pic.

Usually, when you bring a pump.. your friend needs it, but when not bringing. .then puncture happens bangwall:

Also if possible along the highway, try not to ride on the emergency lane unless it's really necessary to avoid the jam.

Plenty of metal debris, not only nails that can puncture your tires.

july 2022 got 2 punctures in 1 week coz of this laugh.gif puncture was 1 screw and also some thin dawai which i think was from a tire's belt.

happened on different days but they were just about an inch apart.....

tire was Road 5... which supposedly is pretty prone to punctures.....

I think that alone is enough reason to bring a pump. So you dont get punctures......hahahaha

No need. You just need your regular license.

As for insurance, the verdict is out there. Some say just the compulsory insurance is enough, some say to top up for the voluntary insurance as well. But if you are just riding into town and not go anywhere far, i suppose compulsory insurance will suffice.

Southern Thai, the authority tend to recognize Malaysia Driving License,

But if want to have long travel until north of Bangkok, I would suggest invest in 150rm IDP.

cc would not matter to enter as long as the bike is registered under your name. Even if not, just get a photocopy and authorization letter from the owner. a chop would be required in the nearest police station prior to entering. For Betong ride, I have never bought insurance (don't do it) but i only ride to the hotel, park the bike, n everything else is within walking distance. will only start the bike when leaving Betong.

The range of southern Thai is : https://goo.gl/maps/xpqKFo42eGzKy3wq6

Border of Chumphon province and below towards Malaysia border, yes Phuket and Krabi are part of Southern Thailand Region.

Yasss 1+ Ban Prakorp border crossing, you will meet the nicest Thai Immigration officers around...

Yes, totally worth the extra mileage, rather than wasting time at immigration queue here and there... sweat.gif
