Hi, I'm currently using Unifi bebas RM35 and it's so far so good. I get about ~8mbps and unlimited hotspot. However the coverage isn't very good so I get headaches whenever I go to somewhere a bit more rural. I'm wondering if there's any other alternative? My only requirement is about ~8mbps speed, unlimited data, non-5g, below RM50, and at least 80GB hotspot quota. I do not use Shopee so the YES free data trick will not work for me.

Thanks in advance!

how about using 2 number.

rural area can using hotlink 365 prepaid as backup.

line and data validity is 1 year.

so the cost only 1 time per year for the backup number.

the only issue is you need high hotspot quota. if any telco can sell prepaid plan with high hotspot quota with price below rm50, 1 family will only buy/subscribe to 1 only. a group of students who stay in the same house/hostel/dormitory will share 1 only. foreign labours in hostels too. Small companies as well. no telco who do this can survive for long term.

if without high hotspot quota, umobile gx30 will be good enough for your usage.

Edit: I've checked with Umobile cs and they confirmed that with a rm5 hotspot add-on for 30days, you can open the hotspot to follow your existing plan. So if you are paying rm30 for gx30 (unlimited plan), so you just need to pay another rm5 and you can hotspot unlimited data to your other devices.

rural area, your best bet is celcom or any MVNO that is using celcom backbone such as xox, tunetalk.

U Mobile now offers hotspot addon for U35, so for an extra RM5 you can use the full 100GB quota for hotspot, if U Mobile is viable in your location.

Yes, I've asked Umobile last week. What if we apply the rm5 hotspot (30days) to our unlimited data plan like GX30 (30days). The answer they gave is our hotspot will follow our plan, in this case, will be unlimited.

80gb hotspot?!
for below RM50 u cant get it bro

you can try Yoodo. RM68 for 80gb high speed data. useable to hotspot too
for the unlimited 6mbps plan the hotspot is capped at 20gb hotspot for RM73

ur hotspot usage is too much for <RM50 prepaid that exist nowadays
