these punch list half baked items is going to run down the budget when operations starts. to top it off once audits starts going in all kind of non sense can be found from process safety, integrity , reliability safety etc. which then itself will result in more run down of the budget for rectifying things rectified making for an endless loop of rectification. QUOTE(CertifiedHomphobe @ Dec 30 2023, 01:10 PM) Hi! Been a while since ive posted here. Ive a question i would like to ask the otais here , what are your opinions on BH ? BH in Baker Hughes? well depends on which product line . If its completions, DD/MWD, logging and/or any downhole work, i say its good opportunity to learn stuff and sky is the limit for progress. Those you see as drilling, completions, workovers, interventions, Company man, Night company Man, DSV and above all have some level of downhole experience and have worked among the big 3/4 (SLB, HLB,BH, and red W with ford).Lets just say ive gotten an opportunity to be selected as a field engineer. All i know is that FEs get sent to buttfuck nowhere , but im unsure how BH malaysia would task their FEs. Basically , is their early career programme any good ? Is there good career prospects ? What should i prepare ? Any experience with the final selection events ? May seem like a lot of questions but i want to be well prepared and set my expectations , basically doing a 'career' jump here so quite in a dillemma . Also it seems like the entire programme is 36 months. thank you As for career programme these days im not that sure what the big 3/4 are doing but they have some level of training courses they will want you to attend (if you can find the time) to move up the level. The key questions is, how long you are willing to slug it on as FE. Less time at home, at time no schedules/rotations etc etc is the perks that come with the job along with the rate they are paying. It may not be the high's of old days but still high compared to some others. Now as for their recruitment process im sure they will have at least 2 or 3 levels of screening, might be wrong but it should be there and there about. QUOTE(CertifiedHomphobe @ Jan 3 2024, 02:04 PM) Oh so you were a part of their program as well ? How was the final selection during your time? What are they looking for specifically actually. fluids is key bro in drilling, one of the important BU's. a few years with their mud school etc then branch out. i know many freelancer making big bucks as the projects increase. BUT as with our industry which is very volatile, you can be hero to zero very quick. money comes money goes so to speak. so dont take lightly of fluids.Yeah , i've heard that they were major differences between the depts/div unfortunately there's no knowing what you'll get till the day comes , so luck based RNG . Not surprised if related to fluids tbh... Also is it true that its very rigid as in no job bonus/performance bonus + tiny increments during the 3 year program? IIRC just closed for the 2024 session for their early career program. As for the pay between different product lines, that's normal la since some tools/specialist gets more charged more compared to others. Something like niche boots & coots, 12k/day USD but you dont see a wild well every day dont you. This post has been edited by mhyug: Jan 3 2024, 03:32 PM |

the north malay basin is a good field. plenty of gas and oil discovery there with so far only the gas being developed and produced. who ever gets the deal from chevron if they decide to sell it off is in good stead with that block. mohdyakup liked this post

I have doubts on the PET bailing sapura. Since the PET themselves currently have been told to cut budget left and right by a certain individual in our country.

QUOTE(mohdyakup @ May 13 2024, 05:08 PM) Manpower supply is part of my business. Here is some rule of thumb. info berguna ni. Your current permanent roles salary, when you expecting to rollover to contract roles, always mark up 50% or more. DO NOT SETTLE FOR LESS. Contract roles, typically calculated by day rate, no work no pay. Hence, your expected salary (monthly), must always divide by 20 days, jangan cari nahas day rate calculation to be divide by 30 days, some recruiters & headhunters seldom share you this. Some of manpower supply agencies can waive or lower for the insurance package for a higher day rates. If you dont want to suffer for higher monthly PCB deduction, opt for PO basis salary, you need to open your own SSM Enterprise, and submit monthly invoicing to the manpower supply agencies. Hope this help. |

Probably along the lines of redemption. Because of a mistake we cant perma tell them to close shop kan. Remove the bad apples, and there are still plenty within the company eking out a honest living.

QUOTE(mohdyakup @ Dec 22 2024, 06:09 PM) Macam ni lah bang, I want to keep the discussion healthy and fun in this thread, I have been stalking on you for so long about your grunt about Petros, I am a very open kind of person, I don't want to bergaduh too much about hentam Malaya vs Sarawak & Sabah. Because... I am a very chill person... fulamak thats vey near to my opis, also lama x tgk abam somet kita But of course, you did raise a good point, I concur, and I pray hopefully Petros would not be another 1MDB saga. As a Sarawakian, I really hope Petros will be govern by a good BODs and CEO. Anyway, I will be off to KL maybe around 28th or 29th December, I am keen to reconnect to all of you in this thread, sembang2 kari together with me enjoying a whip of shisha and coffee at The Castle next to Hampshire hehe.
