One obvious reason is the change of guard of gas business in Sarawak. Many gas development projects in the state are put in the freezer until the gas business in the state is made clear to the interested companies. LL development is in jeopardy of being delayed for a year partly due to this matter, the rumours said.

Middle east is booming, may not be as lucrative as before as well but relatively still a lot better than Msia.

Many migrated there….i guess it’s still booming in Middle East. It will last for few more decades

Renewables might cause slight reduction only, there are still many components dependent on oil industry

If just started, please change it asap before it is too late.

All major international oil and gas companies leaving Msia. But at same time more smaller companies mushroom as well. Unless you are the biz owner, it isnt looking good for emlloyment.

Anybody heard anything about this? How does this make sense for either party?

Discussions surrounding Malaysian shipping giant MISC’s potential acquisition of compatriot floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel contractor Bumi Armada have resurfaced, with Upstream's sources hinting that an official announcement may be imminent, possibly within the next one to two weeks.

Downstream products still require crude oil as feedstock

Heard Shell's downstream product making in PD finally closing shop. This was expected since Singapore is closing as well, next will be their service station.

Yeah none got hired by walking in. Only by invitation. But 58 is not that many given the size QE is expanding.

Yup heard the same as well.. apparently kerang was negotiating to sell of their retail business to Aramco but dunno why suddenly went quiet.. Aramco was keen since it will be a good addition to their portfolio besides Pengerang in johor

I think long term plan, kerang will only be focusing on gas and upstream business in Malaysia.. downstream will be sold of soon..part of their plan to reduce scope 3 emissions..and margins are not so good in their downstream business also.
