I went through this route before thinking of getting used scooters as my first bike, happened to shortlist the same 2 you mentioned here, NMAX and PCX.

Yamaha bikes gave me the fear of them been heavily modded. Cosmetic mod is ok, mechanical mod is the one I am afraid of, unless you know the exact mod put in and able to maintain them after.
Another fear I have is theft rates on Yamaha bikes.

However, selling away an NMAX is much easier than PCX.

TPS problem with PCX is a cheap and easy fix if it ever occur. Most likely it won't occur if you buy used 'cos the owner might have replaced the TPS. It was never a concern for me.

PCX no worry about theft. Not fast bike, not much mods to satisfy those kaki modder. 😬

In the end is what suits you lah.

Both are equally good. If you want easy disposal after roughing it out, go for Nmax. If you want low key and fuel saving, PCX.

What do you mean by the mechanical mod part? Meaning certain stuff need to mod to make the ride nicer?

I'm actually not looking for speed. I'm more towards comfortable cruising santai ride. And maybe mod a bit on the look.

Tbh, how often are these kinda scooters get stolen? If only park inside mall and condo shouldn't have such problems right? I know nothing about bike theft 😅

Scooter is always santai and most comfortable.
No engine vibration problem.
Twist and go.

CVT mod is the most common on these scooters to "go faster".
Premature CVT belt snapping is the common result of such mod.
It's a no-no for me.

Upgrade engine cc is another mod.

Bike theft, even in condo, if they want to nick your bike, they just come in hailat or panel van, lift the bike in and off they go.

I would prefer the PCX. If only for the bigger under seat storage.
The PCX has better weather protection, and doesnt look so terribly out of sorts when you put on a bigger touring windshield if that's your thing. Parts are easy to find anyway...and if you don't mind sourcing from our neighbour up north, then parts become a non issue. Very reliable, very economical.

Uncle PCX doesn't bother me...I'm uncle age anyway.

Edit. And the PCX has simple exposed handlebar design. Easy to adjust angle or install risers to fit your riding position.

PCX was my final pick too...

but changed my mind after that, and gone for a new scooter as my 1st ride

😬

Oh no.. sorry to hear that.. fail at the titi again?

Go and practice more. That's what I did.

PS Samy let me go back with unlimited practice. I usually go back in the afternoon, take a big bike and start practice non-stop.

Ya titi again, today too fast pula

Looks like you need more practical.
Take some time and go back practice, keep doing it until you are comfortable with it for the exam.

Riding needs muscle memory for quick reaction, not much time to think.
So go practice more to train the muscle memory.
