That keypad on the right is for lazy people. They have a button for yelling, a button for talking in party, a one press button for dueling/rolling and so on. Is it really that hard to type '/y' or '/p' or right click on the portrait to duel? Btw, there isn't buttons for YOUR macros, just some preprogrammed shit for you.

Otherwise, it's just paying extra on a normal keyboard for the looks.
