So long since I've opened a thread in /k Education Essentials...
Anyway, I'm just going to post this to anyone that is still interested in becoming a medical doctor....

I know the demand to become medical doctors have somewhat declined these several years... but if you are still determined... here is what UKM is offering:

GRADUATE-ENTRY MEDICAL DEGREE (DOCTOR OF MEDICINE UKM)

Eligible degrees:

The Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) also allows Bachelor Degree as a mean of entry into medical program as stated in their website (see page 214):

So... if you are hell-bent on becoming a medical doctor and got the qualifications and more importantly... $$$$... you can try UKM's graduate entry medical program...
(too bad its still 5-years program, the usual graduate entry medical program is a 4-years program)

Do you have to apply through UPU even for graduate entry since UKM is a public uni? I wonder what category does that falls into? I saw UKM fees for MD was only RM13k which is much more cheaper than any other private uni.

No. this doesnt go through UPU.
This apply directly to UKM using Bachelors degree.

Also... this is full paying student (not subsidized by Govt). So its RM300,000.

Presumably the course would be in Malay?

No medical course in Malaysia is conducted in Malay... even though its UKM.
