dont think so. im not that sure anyway. all i know is it can only play mp4 files. it can play ipod video files. but must be less than 640 x 480. so the trick is, download movies for the ipod video and put it inside the psp. shud work fine. but then again i cant assure u anything, i dont own a psp.

I did a search on it a long time ago, apparently homebrew to run divx wasn't very popular. only one or two deveolopers tried to do but then ithe project was abandoned. I wonder if there is any new developments

would have to look for the homebrew because divx/xvid file requires more processing power, i doubt that PSP's hardware is able to decode that via software, since playing divx on PS2 is also sluggish alrdy, and the batt life will be greatly reduced too
its different than playing mp4 directly, because psp has a dedicated processor to decode mp4

Getting Started

http://pspupdates.qj.net/AVI-Play-for-PSP-.../pg/49/aid/6428Not sure, but homebrews for formats other than mp4 aren't very good as of now. Best is to let Xilisoft run overnight la. In the morning transfer.

PMP format, very popular and sharp and nice. Use AVItoPMP converter, WindMencoder (chinese) etc to convert to *.PMP. 3 levels quality, x264 > xvid > dvix
There are other players playing multiple format, but some very laggy. The sharpest, cleanest image is still PMP
Use PMP Advance player, PMP Mod to play those files in PSP. Gd lck!
edit: Oh, and PMP player decode and SAVE PSP % battery utilisation 20~50% compare to other player, so you get to play longer..
