Saw an interesting article posted recently on Forbes...
Seems that a lot of people can't accept it when bosses are younger than them...
Personally... I have no problem if my boss or immediate superior is younger than me if he or she is actually better than me or a high achiever...
For example...
If in sales where production matters (Not servicing type of marketing but actual direct selling)... if my boss is a nationwide top sales while I'm only the top sales of a small region.. of course I would respect him or her...
If in technical or knowledge-based fields where qualification matters (mostly desk-bound or non-direct selling servicing field like banks (non-telemarketing or other sales roles) / insurance (non-agents) / investment banking / accounting etc.)... if my boss is more qualified than me then I am ok with it.. or better if those very rare top prize winners from the chartered institutions of the particular industry... I would definitely submit and give my respect
If in creative-based fields where recognition matters (architects / interior design etc.)... if my boss is an award winner in the field... of course I am OK with them being my boss... if they have achieved global recognition or awarded by a famous international institution... I would have zero jealousy even if he or she is younger and became my boss because I know in my lifetime I can't reach that level...
The same goes for any other fields where someone would need to have something that is deemed valuable in their field to demand respect...
However... if your boss is younger than you and had achieved less than you... I can confidently say that the department won't last long...
The staff will think that the boss got to where they are via nepotism or famously known "The boot licker"... When the staff thinks that you have no quality it is severely demotivating for everyone in the team...
Hence... sometimes employers need to think twice whenever they practice favouritism...
It is OK if you favour someone when that someone is actually a high achiever but if that someone is just an average joe or even worse than an average joe... you need to think twice before pushing them up...
I generally have very little to no issues with working for bosses and managers who are younger than me. However, due to a very bad experience with one of my previous company where I worked under several under25yo managers, the experience can be a nightmare. It's not just they are incompetent and not know what they are doing. They basically resort to lying and cheating to get clients and get the income. If they got rooted out or exposed, they'd randomly toss it on someone else and blame it on them instead.Saw an interesting article posted recently on Forbes...

So yeah it really has to do with whether if the person can manage and do things or not. If no, forgetit. Go find somewhere else.
