it is alway pathetic when going to repair and looking that the repair bill so high as a guild MT. i was wonder how does any other guild treat their MT, as the prot warrior are so slow in grinding and it takes lotsa gold for buying gems, repairing and enchanting.

our guild MT is subsidized by the guild bank which makes gold from selling ssc, tk and bt crafted items/patterns.

i think he gets approximately 250g per week for repairs.

gems from trash drop (use dkp so no gold spent) and free enchanting by guild enchanter.

In general main tanks are a bunch of spoilt people giving the age-old lame excuse that they cant get the gold cause they are prot. In reality, they just dont know how to manage their ingame finances.

And remi is right, dailies have basically given all players an "I Win Button" for getting gold.

My main is Furioness - MT of my guild. Go armory her http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...rom&n=furioness

The only dailies I've ever bothered doing is the netherwing and thats just cause I want the cool drake. The easy 30 - 50g is bonus on top of the other income I get.

I usually dont post on LYN unless I have a solid idea / understanding of the subject at hand - so please, dont tell me I dont have an clue smile.gif

2. Elixir of Major Agility / Major Defense (on thrash mobs)
3. Ironshield Potions

Its not the repair bills , its the resist gears.

MT's can cover their repair bills through dailies.

Yet again, theres no guarantee that if a raid keeps wiping for no reason. Maybe you can accumulate enough repair bills to break even your dailies?

Consumables are the same, everybody must flask, everybody must pot.

1. Marks can get from guild. I normally just get the first one.
2. Hm i dun even bother pot on trash. Not necessary.
3. Hm good pots but not high usage. Alot of miners will gladly sponsor the motes of earth.
4. WF?? hehe
5. Skettis rep can buy or just fish.
6. Armory me!!! haha

Tanks have it tough so do healers for farming. In general, it helps to get just a lil subsidy from guild bank but 250g per week. Wow that's alot.

To Plaz/Kurei

Agreed that resists gears cost a bomb and farming sucks - but if one can manage his/her finances and/or overcome the sucky part of farming, its just basically management of finances similarly to RL. I personally do not farm, nor do 10/10 dailies everyday. Yet, I have

a) got 2 epic mount.
b) half funded 3 guildies epic mounts (~2500g for each = 7500g)
c) both the FrR and NR set for Hydross and have helped the OTs get theirs.

Not stroking any epeen around, but my key message to the OP...

QUOTE
a MT can be self-sustainable w/out the crutchs of the guild bank.

Also theres no right or wrong, its just a matter of how each guild deals with the situation. Also, I've given out gold (I control the guild bank too btw LOL since im co-GM) to our old MTs (preTBC) before so I know whats it like, as I've been on both side of the fences tongue.gif

Our MT http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.x...hul&n=Truepower

When you are in a raiding guild, technically you should be pushing a new boss every week after downing all the farmed bosses (assuming 1 shot) so you will be spending at least 1-2 nights of full wiping on new encounters.

Repair really adds up especially for bosses with less trash (archi/ROS/illidan), downtime of wiping is so low when learning.

Tank and Healer can hardly DPS, compare to other DPS who can do the daily quests more easily and faster.

Assuming: 2/3 of the daily $ go for repairing, while about 1/3 of same amount gold earned for DPS go for repairing.

They dont have much left to burn.

Enchanting - big $ sink.

Healer will be better unless his a plate-wearer.

*** ***

Suggesting roll another class to farm $, then why play Tank at all, that need to play 2 classes?

Be considerate for them, raid-noob.

I never seem to make money by enchanting so I just disenchant my blues and sell them for like 20g

I don't know about my guild's MT as he's not mentioned it, but he has a rogue which he probably uses to farm. Otherwise, he's active doing instances, earns quite a few from silvers, golds, trash drops and greens/blues/shards. Apart from that, we do give pots that drop during the runs to tanks and healers mainly to help with expenses.

My guild only sponsor enchants and pots to every raiders since our guild is small. (Well, smaller guild=easy to manage=faster progression)
Repair bills is up to individual players themselves.

BTW, my main guild tank is an enchanter/miner. He is doing pretty well and still can afford to train epic flying mount on his main and another alt.
His other alt is a mage.

The other 2 warrior tanks are still have some financial problems though.
Lol, wasted their gold on blacksmith weapons for pvp.

while theres a lot of benefit being in a small guild, heres the biggest and shittiest downside of a small guild:

when that ONE or more somewhat-important/we-just-happen-to-need-his-god-damn-class motherf***er dont come for raid, you are doomed to oblivion.

and this post merely proves a point that people need to QQ less and actually start gaining money.

Ok, I see that azxel's advice seems to be falling on deaf ears.

This place is becoming more and more elitist by the day and its time to put a stop to this.

Further trolling and flaming will be dealt with severely. If you think you're better than anyone else, go do it elsewhere.

Hello myremi,
Surely you guys don't need the Mods to pave the way for a more friendlier section, right? This section has been around for such a long time (2 years now?) Those days when it was still new, we did participate and contribute to get the ball rolling but that shouldn't be how things work. This section was created for people like yourselves as well. As Moderators, we're here to serve you in a way. Helping 'moderate' sections such as this. You gotta admit it's not so active in here compared to the earlier days. I wonder how many people in here still play WoW...

We can't and we don't control members thoughts and actions when it comes to posting. How active this section is should come from the members such as yourself. There's enough WoW players in this forum to keep things interesting enough without all the flaming. People also tend to move from one MMO to another and there are a lot of MMOs out there, each with it's own merit.

So, keep posting! I still enjoy reading threads in this section regardless of whether I play or don't play WoW. smile.gif

Yes Quazacolt,
I stopped playing WoW quite a while ago. Time doesn't permit me to spend time in WoW and I find that there are other MMOs out there that's more appealing to me at this moment. I still do have my WoW: CE box kept nicely though. If time permits, I would have continued playing WoW and joined in the fun in raids and stuff.

hehe true, back in the very old days where im still not registered to LYN its WAY WAY more active than what it is now. although i disagree with "There's enough WoW players in this forum to keep things interesting enough without all the flaming."

back then while the forum is getting dull'er and further and further into inactivity, id figure it would be nice to spark some shit up so i tossed some shit to the fan tongue.gif
apparently it has gone too far and i got a niceeeee warning bar on me lol. HOPEFULLY the forum would still be as active as it is with all the shit tossing hehe.

btw, where you got ur CE? direct from US or sources from msia? i got mine from an uncle in US and even got two dditional unit to sell to a guy that works in c-zone at LYP tongue.gif
apparently blizz made more CE's than original WoW did, and the demand is much lower perhaps its an expansion? or the content it offers lacking.

hi axzel, thanks for the reply. I was thinking not of the moderators as punishers but just generally to hang out. Your title alone as moderator would help give the silent hint that you guys are around and hopefully people may behave better. smile.gif But that's just me. I see how things are like in WoW Nintendo forums and they seem a friendlier bunch with a moderator that is just as crazy.

Discussion will come out but doubt it'll ever not get out of hand here. Some topics are very fiesty topics. smile.gif

But you're right about the community giving more back. Although, probably one thing that really needs to be up on those stickies is a post for New Players hunting for information so that they don't get pick-on for their questions. The existing stickies doesn't quite help in that way. When I have time, I'll get something up. Gulp. If I can find time. >.<

main problem with the stickies are content being outdated, some can even date back to 2005, thats really shocking.gif
