The Jesus that I know (of the Bible) different from that religion teaches / says this one thing that sets it apart.

Love your enemies pray for those who persecute you.

I think, for those who lived long enough in Christianity will understand this;

The nature of the flesh or carnality, the natural reaction is to strike back when being offended.

The devil love this. The devil is all about destruction (kill, steal & destroy). How many have the devil has instigated people to kill or harm others thinking they're doing God a favor? Even this phrase is recorded in the Bible.
And Yet God tells us to do something that is really mind boggling if not weird.

Why love enemies who persecute or wants to harm you even?

It caused me to think this God is different from all others.

God has repeated told us, VENGEANCE "BELONGS" to HIM alone.

In overall perspective, it helped me to understand only God is qualified to dispense judgement if not vengeance. We human with limited knowledge who do not know everything hence is utterly unqualified. To be able to dispense judgement, you must know the facts and you must know everything that is going on to the best of your knowledge, else it will be flawed judgement. Only God has that kind of knowledge but a complete one A-Z.

This has given me the perspective the God that I've come to believe in and live in is the right one and different.
*
Can you give a real life experience of who was your enemy and what they did to you and how when presented with the opportunity to actually strike back you did not.

Save from destruction ? I really don't know about that one. Lately I have been following YouTube Nabi Asli channel to understand about the Quran. Oh boy, what I can say is this, based on the teachings alone. As much as the Muslims wants to claim that our Lord Jesus is the same as their prophet Isa, our Almighty God is the same as their Allah, they are not the same at all. Their teachings in the Quran contradicts everything in our Holy Bible.

Yup agree with your last line, it is the same when our Lord walked on earth. Repent for the Kingdom of God is close at hand.

It's clear that Islam and Christianity are different religions though share some common values.
But jangan pandai pandai stir up tension between the 2 just to show how clever or right you are. You shd understand the context of the country we live in. We are admonish to be at peace with all men..... As far as possible.

Sorry bro, rather keep it P&C for now, I may have disclosed it the last time in previous Christian thread.

But suffice to say there is and even now.

It's still a learning curve for me, dare not claim I'm perfectly holy or what not. But I need to let go and love still, providing aid when needed.

The main gist of Christian life is to live free, light of burdens or bondages of hate, bad habits, etc.

To have God living in our life & heart is to be free of hate, bitterness, unforgiveness or resentment even.

Christianity is really day to day living with God in our lives. Being close....But for us we can call God our Heavenly Father even because that is what He is to his children.

Relationship.

You need to be aware whatever you preach you will be tested on. It's best to talk only about those things which are a living reality in our lives.... For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.
Let me share my experience about what this means. People confuse emotion with spiritual reality. Anger is emotion and we are allowed to get angry but do not sin.... This is the word. I got very angry with the neighbour once and contemplated taking revenge. And sure enough the perfect opportunity presented itself. But when time came for execution I found that something in me would not allow me to carry it out. Thus I understood the differences between emotion and spiritual reality. I may feel angry but spiritual reality is.... The law of the Spirit of life in Christ had set me free from the law of sin and death. There are many false preachers around today who are saying things that appeal to the emotions but devoid of spiritual reality.

Please research your daily prayers. Learn and understand what it means. If you're true to yourself, you'll learn that you're cursing the Jews and bad mouthing Christians, EVERY, SINGLE, TIME, you solat.

Now tell me, where is the "peacefulness" in your religion.

Sorry I am not a Muslim and don't solat.
But I try to keep on good terms with Muslims because such is the nation.

How to know if the bible is really the word of God? It's like asking how to know if the best nasi kandar is from penang? Or which is the best song? Or the best movie? One can talk and debate in great length about these, of all the possible and different parts and pieces that goes into making a great dish, song or movie but all that will never yield a conclusion until you eat the dish, hear the song or watch the movie.
So too with God's Word. Until you are willing to hear, consider and respond in an honest way to it you will never come to know its authencity. The issue is not whether the versions of the bible are flawless. Rather the issue with man spiritual condition and one being darkness and in need of illumination. Even if God decided to superficially provide humanity with a flawless copy of his word it would not guarantee that every one would understand it correctly or even believe in it. What prevents this is simply term the sinful nature of man. Fallen humanity needs more that a typo error free book of religion. He needs light to overcome the darkness that is in him. Only a work of grace upon the heart of a sinner can bring about illumination and knowledge of the truth. Jesus said " I am the light of the world, he who follows me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life". Again the apostle John says of Christ "this is the true light that illuminates every man coming into this world".
For other than by the grace of God, a person trying to discover who God is can best be described as a man born blind attempting to describe the nature and character of sunlight to a world full of similar blind people. To such a one I would appeal,.... Allow Jesus to give you sight that you might see that kingdom of God.
Without Christ we would not know God. Without the Bible we could not know about Christ what more to follow him?
Thus you can't never know the Bible to be from God until you are willing to first consider it. And if after considering it you still could not believe that it is truly God's word..... than I really feel sorry for you, that you could not attain unto the faith that millions were able to come to. And what remains to be said, I do hope you find rest and peace for your soul in your ongoing journey. Shalom

Looking at how fast he replies even though I did not tag him.

Looks like someone does not even have that peace that surpassed understanding.

And he seem to be worse then before. At least before the pandemic I would have a little respect for him. But now. No.

I remember this guy would at least block someone who is unreasonable and at least really not reply directly to a person who he has conflict with but now he seems to have behavior similar to another person in this thread. I guess it probably means that he really thinks I am "easy" meat and not very "unreasonable" that he has to "bully" me together with another person. At least in the past, he does not rely on "bullying" tactics.

It's that the Holy Ghost leading him to be worse?

I wonder why?

But speaking about prophecy. He really fulfils it.

Relaxlah friend no need to get carried away. He is also a sinner saved by grace and prone to mistake and failure. We are all still learning. He was just trying to answer your question. Maybe he misread the intentions behind your line of questioning and "reacted".
Anyway I hope by now you have gotten some answers and I hope you will find grace to know who the true Jesus is. Shalom.

Faith is PERFORMANCE!  laugh.gif

17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb:

20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;

21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.

Cool...... Heb11:17 by faith Abraham offered up Isaac.
Heb11;7 by faith Noah moved with godly fear and build the ark.
This is a difficult question.

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Feb 12 2023, 07:37 AM)
Faith demands action. The word faith in Hebrew is a an active.
The Hebrew word emunah (אמונה, pronounced “eh-moo-nah”)
This is important because the Western concept of faith places the action on the one you have faith in, such as "faith in God".
This is passive ascendence.
But, the Hebrew word אמונה emunah places the action on the one who "carries out their Faith". It is not knowing that God will act, but rather I will do what I can to “carry out my Faith” in God.

That is the reason James says:
*
Wow. Good that you are diligent to research the Hebrew. A very useful person to know.
It's obvious there is a polemic on the definition and understanding of the concept of faith when we look AT Paul's pov and James pov.
I think they are both looking at the same thing but from different vantage points.
So there is a danger we oversimplify it and swing to one extreme.
We should note that Paul is writing from the context of the apostle to the gentiles. At that time there was influence creeping into the new gentile church from Judaism and his writing was intended to stem this.
James makes an intriguing point. The devil also believe but tremble. So when we talk about believe we need to qualify it.
I wonder if James wrote the epistle in response to Paul's overzealous views?

Romans 10:9
If you confess with your mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart God raised him from the dead you will be saved.

Is the Paul. suggesting we just pay lip service? Or is he suggesting we need to possess this reality to be saved? To confess would mean you are knowingly pledging to commit to a covenant. It like when we make our marriage vows and confess to honour the other. Its done knowingly.

There is confusion on the work of the Holy Spirit. He convicts of sin. And this work begins even before conversion. When we resist the workings of the Holy Ghost it scuttle the whole salvation process. In Gen6:3 "my Spirit shall not always strive with man". The convicting work of the Holy Spirit continues as after conversion. That's why it says grieve not the Holy Ghost.
After conversion the Holy Spirit indwells believer ie they possess eternal life. He gives them power to live above sin. He enables us to exercise spiritual gifts. He gives life to our mortal bodies. He leads us when we walk after him. He produces the character of Christ in us ie fruits of the Spirit. He prepares and equips us for ministry. He gives us the revelation of God's word. He teaches us. He comforts us.
