U put 2 months FD, 2 months later of course u will get interest

calculate this way

placement amount x interest rate x months placed / 12 months

E.g. place RM5K for 2 months at 3.1%

RM5K x 3.1% x 2/12

That's right. Some ppl still thinking they can get 3.1% within 2 month . Forgot to divide 12 months.

One of them is conventional FD.

The other is Islamic banking based FD.

Interest not compounded.

e.g. placement of RM1,000

Interest u get is RM1,000 x rate x 6/12

U only get it at end of 6 months, thus not compounded

It takes time to create a FD account for you.

After that, the subsequent placement will be instant.

Just FYI, Conventional and Islamic eFD are treated separately.

I previously opened Islamic eFD (6-mth), took 1 working day. Serial number with 00000001E.

Then I opened Conventional eFD (1-mth), took 1 working day again and marked as 1st placement. Serial number also with 00000001E.

I placed my first fixed deposit via maybank2u efixed deposit. They called me up on the next business day just to confirm if I actually opt for the service. (You may still change your mind)

After maturity, I realized that the funds were not credited back to my savings and also I couldn't view the FD on my maybank2u. I was worried and called them. After investigation they called me up and said that the amount will be credited back to my savings acct and as I recall they didn't really explain what happened.

Lately I only found out that certs would be issued for FD placement over the counter. Hell I was pretty stupid and almost lose my money if MBB just brush me off.

But anyway, I still find efixed deposit is more convenient than over the counter.
