Maybank is the first to provide such service. CIMB Bank is the other one.

HSBC also allows you to place FD online but you can't withdraw it prematurely online. This must be done in the branch. So technically there are only two banks with such service namely Maybank and CIMB Bank.

does "uplift" means cancelling your FD, or renewing it?

Thanks!

I'm just curious, I had placed a 4 months eFixed Deposit for 4 months, and its due to mature end of March '10.

Upon maturity does it auto-renew or will the initial amount be deposited back into your savings account? hmm.gif

Ok, Thanks!

So, I can just log on to M2U and apply for an eFD right? No need to go to bank and get or activate anything right?
I am assuming there is a link to the eFD account on M2U for us to keep track of our account?

Thanks again.

I am currently a Maybank user.
I want to save a portion of my salary each month.
Which do you guys recommend?
Save my money in eFD or in another bank account with no ATM card?

Thanks!

maybank e-fd is certless and can only be controlled on maybank2u.com.my

PBB and CIMB are done over the counter, you will get a fd certificate once you pledged your money

i would choose maybank eFD instead of another bank account....cos it will be costless for maybank eFD given that you have already got an account

it depend your preferences during your eFD application...
u can choose either "auto renewal" or "credit into account"...

auto renewal: keep renew after mature
credit into account: transfer the money + interest after mature

as my experience, i applied eFD for my very first time and it spent day for processing...
later on maybank posted me some sort of FD's receipt to my house after week...

for now and the following applied eFD, maybank2u will immediate update into system on the same working day... smile.gif

yup, it under "Account & Banking", u will see "Fixed Deposits" there...
no matter with cert or without cert, all the FD will display there if the FD under your name... smile.gif
