So recently I was deceived by some YouTube videos to buy a minimalist wallet. I finally bought and used it for a day. I don't know if it's just me but having to fold my banknotes into three parts makes it very difficult for example, to get a RM20 note that is sandwiched between RM1 and RM100 notes. It's just so inconvenient and I looked stupid in front of the cashier who was watching me struggling.
I won't name that wallet. There are lots of similar minimalist wallets in the market nowadays so my problem is not that particular model but all minimalist wallets in general.
As for having to remove those transparent card sleeves just so my cards can fit, and unloading receipts and business cards as soon as I get home (because there simply isn't enough space), I can adjust to these.
Now can you guys recommend a semi-minimalist wallet instead? I'm not totally rejecting a minimalist wallet. I will shelve it while using something else that allows me to gradually adapt. There are some hawker and burger stalls here that still don't accept cashless hence it is not the right time yet to go completely minimalist.
These are my requirements:
- Minimum 11 cards 1. IC 2. Driving license 3. TnG 4. CC MasterCard 5. CC Visa 6. CC Amex 7. Debit card 8. BonusLink 9. Pharmacy card 10. Starbucks card or other similar 11. Hotel room keycard
- Banknotes without folding them more than once
- Coins
- As small and light as possible while still being able to fit everything above
- No zips and no latches. I think these things add weight and they break easily. Probably a simple bifold will do.
- Any material is fine
- Any price is fine (though highly unlikely I will buy overpriced brands but just curious to check them out too)

QUOTE(Natsukashii @ Nov 23 2022, 12:27 PM) 11 cards and also coins? Is there really semi-minimal wallet to fit those? DOES IT EVEN EXIST?? By the way, TnG why don't want to leave inside car? For public transport. Even overseas, they usually have one card for that. I thought about leaving the CC Amex and Debit card at home, but it's just an inconvenience having to plan ahead if I will use those cards before leaving the house. I feel like this is a downgrade to my quality of life.

QUOTE(jian5481 @ Nov 23 2022, 03:54 PM) I would use a card/sleeve + money clip separately. Otherwise, you can try to find those card sleeves with a strong magnetic clip to clip your cash Or you can try https://bellroy.com/products/hide-and-seek-walletEdit: if want to store coins, doubt you can find one that will at least fit your pocket...it will be thick as hell along with 10+ cards Thanks for the suggestion. A minor complain from my observation: If I turn it upside down and shake out the coins, the notes and cards might come out together too. Same for Bellroy Note Sleeve. On the other hand, I saw the Bellroy Coin Wallet which should not have the same problem. Bellroy wallets are around twice the price I paid for mine, so I will take my time to decide. In the meantime, I really don't mind some cheap Chinese knockoffs that look exactly like Bellroy Coin Wallet. It's completely fine too if the knockoffs don't come with the signature "pull tab" in Bellroy Coin Wallet and Bellroy Note Sleeve.

QUOTE(jian5481 @ Nov 23 2022, 08:51 PM) Heard good things about Bellroy, but i have not seen one myself. Been considering for a while now as well, maybe I'll pull the trigger next year. Still looking around for more options Stumbled upon this as well, which pretty much fits your requirement? It's tri-fold, but after you put the cash in, not fold before inserting. Never heard of this brand, so i'm not sure about the quality https://vulkit.com/collections/premium-wall...tri-fold-walletYes, I was also considering Vulkit VC302 (102 x 70 x 25 mm, 119 grams) and Revelot W5 v2 (100 x 80 x 25 mm, ? grams). They can hold a lot things, and the widths are around 100 mm. However, it seems to me that the slider contraption is adding quite some weight and thickness to it.
