I'm using same spec as you right now..i7-4790K..for now I use 1070Ti which work great. If you just watching Netflix and light gaming, should just look for 2060 or RX6600

QUOTE(Prometric @ Nov 23 2022, 09:58 AM) Both are also ok. most user just pick Nvidia because less driver issue than AMD. but performance wise RX6600 8GB has more VRAM and perform slightly better than 2060 6GB. The link you provided above is for 6600XT which a bit pricier. here RX6600 which a bit cheaper This post has been edited by soul_gamerz: Nov 23 2022, 10:12 AM

whats your budget? 2060 is not a good gpu for its time. i would suggest get the lowest end of 3000 series which is the 3060 12GB. Since you will be playing D4, you want nice graphics and smooth playing. If you can afford go for 3060 ti. GPU is so cheap now.

This? https://shopee.com.my/-OCPC-GeForce-RTX-306...9d-d893efecfa1cI have budget, but not looking to spend a fortune on this. hence just want to replace the GPU and upgrade certain stuff in the PC instead of buying a new rig. edit: i saw the ZOTAC OC 3080 <-- would this be a better choice and compatible with my rig? https://shopee.com.my/ASUS-GIGABYTE-GTX-RTX...2a-aa3322fa38eaThis post has been edited by Prometric: Nov 23 2022, 10:35 AM

PSU: Seasonic M12II-750 EVO (80+ Bronze/ Full Modular)
You can go up to Nvidia 3060 TI or AMD 6600XT, if you want. Everything depends on your budget though. If you're going for previous gen, just skip the AMD 5000 series and Nvidia 2000 series.
I'm not sure about AMD drivers for the 6000 series, but I'm using the RX 590 and it's kinda bad for certain games.

Your CPU would bottleneck a 3080 anyway at 1080/1440p gaming

QUOTE(Prometric @ Nov 23 2022, 10:43 AM) So in short i just need to upgrade my power supply to support 3080? Kinda? but your set up would not be able to use the 3080's full potential. It's ultimately up to you though, like maybe you plan to upgrade your system next year, etc. so you're future proofing with the 3080.

I see, so the 3060 TI would be the best option for my current setup at the moment. Thanks for the advice ! edit: My next question would be what is the best 3060 TI out there? Since there is so many option out there. I see some even with dual fan and triple fan This post has been edited by Prometric: Nov 23 2022, 11:10 AM

I see some even with dual fan and triple fan This question I'm not too sure myself. the 3060 TI needs two fans only, honestly - it's not that hot. I always liked the Asus TUF, and Zotac cards are good too. I heard MSI has VRM issues. Others I'm not too sure. Oh yes, one thing to remember - for the 3000 series GPUs, don't use any Daisy Chain cable. 1 8-pin connector connects directly to the PSU. If there's another 6 or 8-pin, use another cable to connect directly to PSU. It's something I read in Reddit awhile back.

I see some even with dual fan and triple fanĀ Yes 3060 ti is your better option for now. Since you only play like D4. Some would say that 3080 is overkill but at the end it depends. If u are going to change your gpu in the next 3 years and wont be going to any intense gaming in future then 3060 ti is more than enough. go for 3 fans. More cooling is always better. But see if your casing fits 3 fans as gpu will be longer. Also 3 fans is more expensive abit. Actually 2 fans is also sufficient for 3060 ti. Also Zotac have 5 years warranty. Some would again say that zotac not as good as others such as Asus. Fan noise. For 3060 ti, 3 fans, any brand to me is about the same. U might want to consider on the warranty part. If you go for 3080 then maybe u might want to look into more detail which brand is better. This post has been edited by kopiride: Nov 23 2022, 11:23 AM
