I still feel that the Astraea is the most Gundam-looking design in 00. Too bad it's only in MSV form, but if CE is of any reference the Astraea will be a hit like the Astrays.

G Gundam is forgiven since the whole theme itself is wacky. 00 on the other hand emphasises on "real world issues" so they should have incorporated realistic battles such as those in 08th MS team.

Another attempt in cosplaying.

The first episode, yes... it was the best among all 3. Dark, gloomy, with the atmosphere of doomsday. And it showed how badass a grunt suit like a Ginn can become.

The second and the third were disappointing. The second ep where they revealed Sven's background was nicely done, but I dread the fights. Noir's flashy moves might have been enjoyable for some people, but come on... how can a mecha's tiny arms shoulder the weight and tension of flinging two large sized BuCues with cables? And I really don't enjoy mecha doing somersaults ala Heavyarms Custom in EW.

The modified EA mechas were pretty much redundant. Noir's design might have attracted a lot of fans, but for me I don't see how a mecha can fly with a small engine and large metal sheets at the back. The Aile Strike which had more boosters and verniers can only do power jumps. Noir's two parangs are quite badly designed too. What's the use of having large metal blades when the beam part is significantly shorter than a normal beam sabre?

Blu Duel became too chunky and awkward compared to the Assaultshroud. And seriously, it needs missiles more than throwing blades. The Assaultshroud looked like a tank, while the Blu Duel looked like messy with parts sticky-taped on. Verde Buster suffered from the same sticky-taped effect as various guns were just slapped on... The more guns, the merrier eh? But at least it had a more significant increase in firepower over the normal Buster compared to the Blu Duel vs Duel Assaultshroud.

The third ep was even crappier as it descended back into typical GSD crap. Astrays standing still, missing their targets when they fire, and getting killed at the blink of an eye. Noir, for all it's weapons, got seriously pwned by a non-combat mecha. Stargazer's weird gimmicks like the force-field which absorbed beams and formed beam rings were not explained too.

Random... just too random.

In the end... realistic or not? I'd say only the first episode. And I liked that episode very much.

From 00's side story... Now now, does "gerwalk mode" ring a bell?

OK, the great Char debate. Let's have some fun.

After the end of OYW, Char went back to Axis and joined Maharajah Karn's forces which were located at the Asteroid Belt. It was there that Haman met him and got infatuated with him. Char also met his old comrades, Apolly and Roberto on Axis. All 3 of them (or maybe just Char, not sure) disguised themselves with aliases and joined the EF to spy on them.

During 0083, Char might know about the Zeon's attack yet he didn't want to join them. Delaz and Gato were hardcore Zabi supporters, and we all know Char hates the Zabis. On the other hand, if Char was on Earth all along he might not have known Operation Stardust after all, since almost no one in EF except Bask, Jamitov, and a few high ranking generals had any idea about it. Axis Zeon knew the attack, but remained neutral towards it as they didn't want any threat from EF while they were slowly building up forces and moving towards the Earth sphere. I don't think Char had any contact with Axis after he left.

Quattro later met up with Blex and several other EF soldiers who were pissed with the Titans, hence forming AEUG. Anaheim, being the money loving people, supported the uprise of AEUG and sold them loads of WMD.

Try not to think about TTT and their prototypes. AOZ was written so much later than the original Zeta, and often the time gap in between will result in overpowered mechas. 0083's mechas all pwn Zeta's designs, yet in chronology 0083 is earlier than Zeta. The tech advancement is accelerated even faster from ZZ into CCA, where the weapons' output all increased dramatically. The designs? hehe... too extravagant for me... the earlier Hazels are still quite nice looking since they originated from GM Quel, yet the recent newer MAs and addons all became too messy, as if they stuck 100 guns onto one MS. Oh well, looks are subjective and let's not get carried away.

Back to topic. Titans lost because:
1. The uprise of Scirocco. He charmed the Titans subordinates into supporting him, while at the same time doublecrossed Jamitov and Bask. Losing two masterminds left Titans in a scramble.

2. AEUG blasted the shit out of the Titans with the Colony Laser... One shot, and at least half of the Titans fleet was gone.

3. Haman. She messed around with Titans leadership, faking her support yet helped AEUG in destroying the Titans fleet. Her involvement gave Scirocco the chance to further mess around with Titans too, read 1.

4. Kamille POWAH !! Newtype POWAH pwns all... Kamille + newtype ghost + Zeta Biosensor = WINZ

Hope this helps... I'd like to hear other people's views too.

My apologies if my comments irritated you, and I don't expect you to accept my views. I feel that 00 designs (apart from Astraea and possibly Tieren ) = shitz and I stand by that. If I can't speak my mind then why even bother having this forum?

If you like the new designs by all means go ahead and support them. Buy their merchandise, build their gunpla.

If you feel that UC or GW or GX designs are shit then say so, I know I can't possibly change your mind too.

What we say here is not important as there will still be people buying the gunpla. BANDAI won't give a damn to the designs as long as they sell.

If it makes you happy, I feel that some designs in the old 0079 are shit too... like Zakrello, Zock, and the weird elephant looking Zeon MAs... It's just that no one wants to mention them here. I'd dare say most recent posters in this thread has never even heard of them anyway. If one day 00 comes out with a design I like, I'll praise it 24/7... Same case with any other series.

Gundam preferences are very subjective. What I like may not your cup of tea, and vice versa... But the harsh truth is that Gundam 00's designs have NOTHING to do with Gundam, in fact the 3 new Gundams look more like stuff that rolled out of the Code Geass factory.

I'd like to say that mecha designs of the late 80s and early 90s are still the best. Gundam aside, Macross and Patlabor designs are also classic... mechanical yet streamlined. The trend nowadays are alien-looking units ala Eva... Lancelot looks that way, same case with Eureka 7.

My view is that Gundams should look like Gundams. Boxy, chunky, squarish.
If one day Rei or Asuna end up piloting a gundam lookalike instead of the aliens in Evangelion, I'm sure hardcore Eva fans will be annoyed too.

CCA... both Amuro and Char are dead. Tomino said they are, so DEAD they shall remain.

Some people might argue that their bodies weren't shown, yet Amuro's and Char's cockpit overheated and went red hot before "exploding". Characters suffering this fate all died in the end, regardless of whether their bodies were shown or not.

Conclusion? I'd say they are dead. And should remain dead....

Unless... unless Full Frontal is CHAR !!

Don't make 00 into some sort of religion where people cannot talk bad about it ler. Same goes with other series.

Finally more detailed discussions about 00's plot instead of just "Gundam OO ROCKS !!" or 'Gundam 00 SUCKS..."
