Hi,
I am using Blueguard Alarm System and my home internet is TM Unifi.
I'm planning to switch to Maxis Home Fibre but there is one concern the salesman told me about...
"if you change to Maxis, when the alarm triggers, the system will have a problem calling you because the device used by Maxis is not compatible (the router, wifi, or else)".
From your experience, may I know if this is true? Or it is just Blueguard doesn't want to come to your house again to configure the things etc?
Thank you for your feedback in advance.

I am using paradox system. Previously using maxis, now unifi. Both ok. Just maintain with unifi, from my experienced with troubleshooting UNLESS you have other personal reasons. I think it should be plug and play type. If at all setting is required, it should be the fibre operator side.

how's the bluguard connected to your home internet? Is it via wifi, lan cable, or using old school wired phone line?
if using wired phone line, then, need to change settings of the alarm controller because stored phone number has changed.
if using lan, no issue. just plug and play.
if wifi, then, need to reconnect the alarm to the new wifi..

If the call out number in the event of a triggered remains unchanged, there is no need to input the same number with the change of service provider. The dial module will auto detect a dial tone and function like a nornal land phone unit to call a numbrr stored in the memory. If is a new system or replacement of main module, then yes ... have to input the new call out number. When I installed my alarm 15 years ago, I have to call maxis to configure the setting but I think is not necessary now. This post has been edited by mini orchard: Dec 1 2022, 01:27 PM
