That sounded like memorising the algo making it intuitive haha. laugh.gif

And backslotting sounds nice, time to practice.

hmm...u do not need to memorize the algo... u create a brand new solution of ur own.. but that solution do exist..just that u have to find a solution that u can perform with ur own intuitive and not memorizing the algorithm for that case..

woah this took awhile to get used to. icon_question.gif
i just practiced slotting F2l pair from any position  sweat.gif  , to reduce regripping took awhile get better with it.
Neutrals you know any rubiks competition? i m bored  playing all slone doh.gif

There was a rubiks competition few months ago...but I didn't know about it and missed it.. if not mistaken..this december maybe will have an official competition...but not sure succesful or not..they are planning to organize it..
Slotting f2l pair from any position is very good.. but u have to be good in F and B turns to do so,..I am weak in F and B turns.. so I prefer to rotate y or y' and then use R and L moves.. tongue.gif

oh ya...there is a cube gathering this saturday (25 October 2008) in One Utama shopping complex, damansara, petaling jaya, selangor.... morning till afternoon.. anyone interested to come? Can discuss about the gathering in this thread >> http://www.malaysiancube.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=114

i `ll make it simple as you know CFOP stand for
Cross
First two layer (f2l)
Orient last layer(OLL)
Permute last layer(PLL)
or it widely know as Fridrich . In PLL ,you have 21 different cases that you need to memorise in this 21 cases their in group consists of
Edge Permutations(4 cases)
Corner Permutations(3 cases)
R Permutations(2 cases)
J Permutations(2 cases)
N Permutations(2 cases)
G Permutations(4cases)
Other permutations (4cases) you can look up here Dan Harris PLL algo for references. I hate G perms because the algo are long to memorise but Neutral manage to memorise them all icon_rolleyes.gif

OMG! lol if PLL is so hard, why not just use OLL instead? is it that PLL is faster?

i'm learning how to do f2l now happy.gif and i think i'm not doing too bad =p

@Laliloo . lol is not hard i just hate long algo to memorise. but i like excecuting OLL & Pll algo thou.icon_question.gif haha.
you need both the OLL and PLL to finish the last step of Fridrich. think of it as Two part sequence
. good luck on your F2l ohmy.gif

Mr Ace : I learned all pll in one short....because I was not using fridrich method before learning 2 look oll,1 look pll and f2l..I was using jasmine lee method...once want change to fridrich..I straight go to 2 look oll,1 look pll and f2l and cross... last time I use that method no form cross..is finish 1st layer corners, then only do first layer edges.. so fridrich method was a whole new thing to me..nvr use any of these 4 steps before in my previous method ~.~"

c-timhehe : any cubes above size of 3x3 can use reduction method...once u understand how reduction method works..u should be able to solve any cubes from 4x4 to 99999x99999...just takes longer time.. reduction method you can look from many sites..youtube videos or more..I learned it from dan harris site >> http://www.cubestation.co.uk/cs2/index.php?page=4x4x4/4x4x4

adeas : my favourite PLL is clockwise A perm, OLL is H case OLL(because learned a good fingertrick for that case...)..f2l I like the most because need look ahead a lot and make no pause.. form cross abit tricky sometimes..but inspection usually already find the solution..

Hi to all, I'm new here.

If you are referring to (9,12,7,4) they are individual tally for each move as in (face moves, quarter moves, slice moves, and antislice moves). Whereas R²U Fs R²Bs U R² is the algorithm for that particular permutation, last layer, assigned as U.

I think U and A are worth remembering since both have highest chances of occurrence with lowest number of moves required among all permutations. At least, this is my interpretation of it.

Hope I'm correct.

Hi! Wah... didn't know there is Rubik's Cube here... smile.gif

What is the fastest technique to solve the layer within below 30 secs. The normal layer by layer (and modified a bit to it) take a few minutes for me.

guimond or sun-stern method best for speedsolving 2x2
fridrich(CFOP) method best for speedsolving 3x3
zb,petrus and heise method best for fewest moves solving 3x3
reduction method best for any cubes 4x4 and above in size

Hi guys. Started cubing juz last week. Bought the Rm24.90 one from Toys'R'Us. Definitely better than the RM5 ones at pasar malam or Rm13 ones at Popular Book Stores.

Average time so far is 3 minutes. Occasionally breaking the 2 minute barrier. I can never train myself to look ahead... It feels so intuitive to solve the steps I'm doin at the moment before moving on.
