I know this is not helpful but just want to give you some encouragements. Based on anecdotal experience, so many of my IT friends get jobs much quicker compared to my friends from other majors. A lot of them were also sub 3.0 CGPA.
I think IT is one of the fields that gives the least shit about gpa and prestige. In Software Eng, you can also build portfolios demonstrating your capability so potential employers can look past your cgpa, you can't do that with say a major like chemical engineering.
