QUOTE(Cimredopyh @ May 26 2008, 11:01 PM) Please do not breed them for no good reason. tq for ur advice..no reason to make money...i just want them stay together like hamster family...very nice to see they play together in same house rite??i also know, and read alot in hedgehogvalley.com...yes,it might effect the mother when give birth...i also dont want to take the risk..just wanna make mine, happyBreeding is not easy, not fun, and definitely NOT something for inexperienced beginners If you are thinking about breeding to make money let me tell you that you need to be prepared to spend more than you will earn. If something goes wrong during birth/pregnancy and you do not provide emergency vet treatment to a hedgehog that is pregnant because YOU wanted her to be, then the blood is literally on your hands, because you killed them. Alot of things can go wrong, horribly wrong. click here to SEE what i mean warning do not click if you cannot stand the sight of blood http://www.hamorhollow.com/gallery/Health-Destroyed My honest advice to you is learn everything you can about how to keep a hedgehog healthy and happy as a pet before you even start to think about anything else. Welcome to hedgehog corner. Yep, just keep seeding the litter box with poops and hopefully Oakey will get the idea Remember to have patience for now because he is still a little baby and babies have poor bladder control (will just poop whenever and wherever they like several time a day) As he gets older his intestine will lengthen and he will be able to control it better. Either paper towel or cat litter is fine, I am using paper towel. But if you choose cat litter be sure to avoid the clumping or clay type, also the crystal type is unsuitable. You can also use breeders celect in the litter box. He is incredibly adorable Take as many pictures as you can because he will grow up in the blink of an eye. |

QUOTE(livingmonolith @ Jun 3 2008, 10:38 AM) i think it's safe to say everyone here feed their hedgehogs daily. one spoon of kibbles should be enough, and like what mamata said if you're afraid of obesity then put a wheel in the tank, your hedgehog will surely run and poop in it every night. TQ....ANYWAY..WHAT THE THING U MENTIONED..IS THE SAME WHAT MY HEDGIE DO....ANYWAY TQ FOR UR OPINIONit's normal for them to come out in the night, mine's extra active after 12, he'll come out and walk around, run on the wheel, finish the food, and poop all over the place. occasionally i'll check on him and turn on the lights, he'll stop whatever he's doing and head straight back to his hidebox. don't worry about it. i think if you really love the pet you won't find it any hard to take care of it. it's definitely easier to take care compared to dogs or cats, it's just the case of whether you enjoy washing the wheel everyday or not... if you're asking us i'm sure everyone of us think hedgehogs are great pets to have, so we're a little bit biased here. |
