I know which I'm gonna buy now...
this noon while studying downstairs I kept thinking n finally my mind made it decision... XD

for now I think I just can afford to buy hedgie.. cuz' it doesn't need big space and not take hard to take care... bout SG... will buy it later after I finish my study n become more mature then just buy it... hehe

now... can someone tell me where to buy a hedgie? I prefer buy from breeder better than pet shop i guess... and since I will be having my exam next 2 weeks I want to buy it end of the month.. can someone tell me where to find the breeder? thnks!

crazymouse_yyh : study in Taylor College now and there still 2 more years to graduate... T.T i really wan to fast fast finish my study lol

Look around LYN and you'll easily find a few breeder wink.gif, . Theres few breeder now compared to a few times back where its quite difficult to get one. I love hedgehog coz it suits me. They are cute, but at the same time independent, they prefer their own space, doesn't need constant companionship and attention, not too fragile, knows how to defend themselves and very easy to take care. Basically owning a hedgie you just need to feed them once or twice a day and clean their cage once every +-2 weeks.

He likes to play behind my feet and climb it but then cannot climb...  tongue.gif
was thinking to move him to my room end of this month.. to take him away from my "naughty" housmate...
always asked me to take him out n just now when she knows i played with him without calling her, she dash down n open the cage which made lil Ken so scared and she keep on put her hand to him... unfortunately he din even want to sniff her hand! lol then I asked her to stop disturb him but she dun want to listen which made me had to watch her more than i have to watched over my ken.. T.T
*
u lansi with her la, your ken ken only tame with you ma, usually most hedgie only bond with their owner, they a bit cautious wif other people, if your fren so tangan gatal ask her buy one herself la, dun disturb your ken ken laugh.gif

Haha! dishbrush, awesome
I bought a teeny tiny soft bristle toothbrush with a rubber coated handle since i was scared anything else would hurt the hedgie, looks like i was being overly paranoid?  laugh.gif New mom, what to do.

I also got a small bottle of no more tears baby shampoo since i was unsure if the shampoo i use for my cats was suitable , and plan to look around for some organic oatmeal for oatmeal baths anyone know a good type?

all people starts with being inexperienced. Whats most important is to take action, you will learn it while in the process of taking care of them.

I dont know why but i find that very funny  laugh.gif

Some hedgie will only bond with its owner, and its becoming increasingly apparent when they get older. Thats why for hedgie it is not adviseable to get an older one(more than 4 months old), since althought they can be incredibly tame and playful with their owner, they can suddenly change personality to cautious and hostile towards new owner scent.

Try and get this from your nearest vet:

apply everyday on the bald spot and wash him up with a cat/dogs medicated mild shampoo. He'll be okay within a week.

You check carefully. Only use frontline when you are sure there are mites. You look carefully. We must not simply use frontline on hedgehogs coz it is after all poison.

If sheimi is not scratching, not producing dandruff, then it has no mites lah. Just give him a normal bath. Quills will grow back. It is afterall their hair... like ours lah, we also sometimes drop hair.

Added on November 28, 2007, 8:26 pmHere is the little hoglet that is 29 days old today.

is it ok to put ur hedgie at the lawn for a while...ofcourse with me by his side la...

Ok as long as not kena direct sunlight or extreme coldness during the night. Best condition is to put your hedgie indoors. COz not a single of my hedgie died for more than a year, but my friends who put his hedgie outside for few days oso die.

hedgie can survive alone for a few days without any problem
i have left my hedgie alone for 3-4 days before when i go vacation or go back hometown.
juz need to get my housemate to check on him once in a while to make sure he is still there coz mine is an escape artist  sweat.gif

other than tat as long as water and food is available shouldnt be a problem but 2-3 weeks is too long to leave him alone  wink.gif
