QUOTE(Reanne @ Dec 20 2007, 11:41 PM) You should NEVER EVER EVER EVER feed Whiskas or Friskies to your hedgehog unless you want to damage their growth and life. Especially Whiskas, which is so full of colouring, corn, salt and by products, might as well feed corn flakes to you hedgehog, healthier than those 2 brands.(Not literally) You won't find RC in supermarkets. Go to pet shops that sell dogs and cats or a pet boutique. I recommend PetsPeople in Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas. They have both RC and Orijen. Colourful diaarhea? LoL! When i previously feed a stray cat with Friskies biscuit, the bulu become much much nicer than a stray cat and become more like luxurious cat, but oh well, now i noe those product are suckie ^^. I will never buy those product for my pets again..A friend of mine fed a stray kitten Whiskas and the kitten got very colourful diarrhoea. |

Hes still adjusting to his new home, give him time to relax and get familiar
I dont see any reason at all why you should force him to eat the mealworms by taking away his basic food during this time when hes adjusting>.> please dont simply give suggestions irresponsibly Just try again some other time and yes, mealworms are considered treats to supplement their diet with Edit: Muchan found someone to babysit ken yet? QUOTE(Cimredopyh @ Dec 24 2007, 12:12 AM) Edit: Muchan found someone to babysit ken yet? actually... I'm not at home now.. and for these 10 days I asked max to help me take care of Ken while I'm not at home... I was thinking to ask him again to baby sit Ken... but kinda scared that I disturb him too much.. cuz currently he took care of Ken and then next month I asked him again... I feel kind of uneasy.. >< so I was asking if any one here want to help me baby sit Ken.... cuz I really had to go back for family occasion.. and it would be around 2-3 weeks T.T |

No you did not specify how long to take away the food for, and that is also a problem if your going to give advice be CLEAR about it "give advice responsibly" Teaching him that there is another food for him? Even if you did specify how long i still dont see any logic in the advice you are giving, mealworms are a treat/supplement, they are not medicine that must be eaten immediately The animal will eat it when it wants to, there is no reason to try to put it in a situation where is has to. QUOTE .please dont simply judge irresponsibly.. Sigh....im not here to play word games with anyone im here to talk about hedgehogs I fail to see how im judging irresponsibly. Its someones pet we are talking about here. I saw bad advice and i stepped in to point out what i thought was bad about it. I think im using a discussion forum as intended Muchan check ur pm later |

QUOTE(allsaints @ Dec 26 2007, 11:04 AM) blessed christmas everyone~!!! Check him under bright light like torch light or sunlight even better. If it has mites problem, you'll see tiny white walking fella or another way to check is the falling quill. There'll will have a round thingy at the end if normal quilling. If you do not see the round thingy then is mites problem.*matt gave spikey some crickets for christmas* so cute anyway, spikey seems to be scratching quite a lot lately and he seems to be quilling also.. can it be mites? how can we be sure that it is not mites? (the skin is red if it mites ar?) @_@ can we go to any vet if our spikey got mites? =.= Edited: If you find mites, please remove the bedding and use only newspaper till it's cure. Sun your remaining new bedding. You don't need to bring it to vet. You can do the treatment on your own by spraying Frontline. Go get a Frontline spray.
