Echo's adoption is an adoption but I'm not expecting to simply adopt her off. You need to show me that you can take care of her and understand the terms and conditions well.
Whoever that sent me smses that I didn't reply : I'm getting smses asking for her and asking if hedgehogs are easy to keep. What nonsense is this? You want something free you have to work for it, don't expect me to spoon feed you. My price is research, the internet is at your disposal, make use of it. |

You want something free you have to work for it, don't expect me to spoon feed you. My price is research, the internet is at your disposal, make use of it. But to be honest... after I did some research I can say that my knowledge bout hedgehog is improving.. thnks to Reanne!! hehe ow.. another one.... I read the 1st page it's said that hedgehog normally stay alone... so they won't share their cage... but last night when I read some site n do research.. It is said that the female hedgie are more cohabited than the male hedgehog. cuz' the male one will try to fight each other for their dominant... I read it from here QUOTE Only females can safely cohabitate but still... Reanne said don't put the adult together... they can stay together in one cage when they're young but when they grow older they should be put in separate cage ^^ This post has been edited by muchan86: Nov 15 2007, 07:18 PM |

If you put 2 together, you have to double the tank space.... 4ft and above.... can? Anyway, it is to be safe. They are after all solitary... in natural life, they always forage and walk alone and come together during matings.... most animals are like that. Colony animals, life pairing animals.... they are different but solitary animals do not come together and live with each other even if they meet each other.
Just google these 2 words... "hedgehogs solitary" and a long list of websites that says hedgehogs are solitary. Some breeders may keep the females together coz they need space, so they put 2 animals in a 2ft tank.... but actually you should need about 4ft of space to make them happy. As humans, we would always think that having pets in pairs is great coz they can have a friend.... but I think better stick to facts than to stick to our emotions. |

I searched more bout it.. it is said that it will be great if we can give them as big space as we can... and it will give them more space to roam free Just google these 2 words... I used to buy animals in pairs.. cuz' my thoughts also same with some ppl out there who think animal in pairs is more fun than single pair.. but after done some research by hedgie.. I realize that not all animals are the same.. and it must have some proper reason to keep pairs except if u think to breed it la... hahha anyway.. found this discussion room which full of hedgehod stuff ^^ |

You should buy it first and prepare a few days before you bring your hedgie home. Since got 30% discount, should buy when the discount still available. Later no more discount, then zannendes.

Get the largest your budget would allow, or at least one that is just nice. Don't get the ones with the second or third levels made from mesh or bars. Actually one floor is enough, as long as it's spacious enough. The sides as well, don't choose the ones with bars the hedgehog can easily reach.
