Hi guys. Anyone using Edifier 1280DB ? Looking to get a new set of decent desktop speakers, I will be using it mainly for listening to music and watching Netflix.

Been looking at a bunch of reviews regarding this speakers and seems like 10 out of 10 reviews recommend it as the best speakers with value for money and quality, just want to ask around for some real feedback to make sure before purchasing it.

It's priced at 599 at the original price, but could go to 380+ in Shopee. But I don't think I'll buy it online for safety reasons. Anyway please do let me know if this speaker is the right one for me ?

My 2cents as a low level audiophile.
They are very muffled and boomy.
Okayish (for the price) for music when you're not too bothered with clarity.
For Netflix, you have to turn it very loud otherwise the dialog is very muffled.
I have a set of Creative Pebble at rm99 that is less frustrating to watch movies on.
Literally every speaker I ever had was better than this. Wish they still sold Altec Lansing 45.1.
For me that is. Maybe you'll love them.

Thanks for ur feedback. By any chance, any other decent speakers out there with a good clarity that will suit my budget ? My budget is around 300-500. Might be able to stretch a little for that quality sound.

Ooo that's a tough one. I think the 1280DB doesn't have competition at this price. Although I wouldn't reco them. You should at the very least have a listen b4 buying.
I do not have experience with anything in your 500 budget. The closest one I can think of is a rm1200 Kanto. Or a rm1500 Klipsch r14pm. Maybe a Jamo or Jbl? Or used stuff?

i own before, dont expect deep bass, 60hz above ok
clarity gud for me, somehow better than my r2000db, kinda weird right?
i nvr compare them both side by side before tho.

however r1280db full range driver will become distorted if u max the bass knob with high volume together (full range driver vibrating out of its max amplitude)

i would recommend them tho. but, still have a listen yourself, everybody has different ears and preference

The r1280t/bt is very popular and decent for the price. Check out the MR4.
