Hi all, recently parent's credit cards encountering unauthorized transactions from FB ADS. First is standard chartered, now is ambank. Never saved card details or purchased anything on facebook before. Anyone know where is the data leakage coming from?

mine too bro. using ambank CC. but the bank immediately blocked my card and the transaction didn't go through.

Could have also been through the iPay88 leak.

I've been using cards for more than 10 years now and have never had an unauthorised transaction happen, but just a couple of weeks after the iPay88 leak news came out got 1 unauthorised transaction occur on my card which CIMB auto blocked, another one occured two days before on my wife's HSBC card which she had to call them to ask them to reverse and block.

ya ambank cc immediately blocked, but discovered that got rm1k rm1k transactions before blocked. Somemore, ambank SMS only say USD1.00 transaction, the other transactions did not receive sms.

HSBC actually quite common people kena this, probably internal people selling data. Parent's HSBC card got transactions all the way from Australia quite a while ago, the card was almost never used except top up grab once or twice a month when got promotions.

Careful with iPay88 gateway where there's a tick box that allows them to save your card details for like 30 days... I always unchecked it...

Trust no one, unless it is absolutely necessary to expose your details.

BTW, my Citibank card also kena before last year. And I'm absolutely sure it is Food Panda payment that caused it. My card just expired that time with new card delivered to me. It has a new CVV number and the only purchase I made that time was during that Panda Mart voucher frenzy period... these days, I only use the online bank payment FPX method for my Food Panda payment. I don't trust their developer. I think its Indian firm who handle it.

Ipay got data leaked.
Please inform bank to stop/block the card.
Need to request a new card.
File for dispute for those unauthorized txns.

Got 1 rm100 fb ads SG yesterday as well maybank, called maybank Cs to block it and issue new one.

Make sure all your card regardless debit or credit, expired date is on 2027 and above. Last time got leak on iPay88, so don’t know which card impacting so i just call bank report it as lost card. They will send me new one for free. But debit card might got fee.

LOL that easier say than done but when u have autodebit/autopay it will be nightmare.


ALL Credit Cards validity is 5 years only.
When u get a new card (either new application/report lost card/fraud) it will come with new card valid for 5 years.

Exception if if u have 2 or more cards from same bank but u only change 1 card, then it will follow back the same date.

Got hit with fraud transaction too. Showing transaction from Google ADS3160592892 with transactions from 20 Nov and 22 Nov.

Yes as if you report today, bank will issue new card with expired date 5 years from now which is 11/2027.
So if someone already get hold of your existing data, it will be invalid as new card will have new number since u report it as lost card.

The only drawback is autopay, need to manually update. But it still less hassle compare to being involved in fraud.

Call banks asap. Likely from GHL hack few months ago or could be hackers randomly brute force the credit card number with the CV code.

rhb got one card that can change CVV every 60 minutes IIRC
