https://www.nst.com.my/business/2022/11/849...vietnams-137pctMalaysia's GDP expands 14.2pct in Q3, fastest in Southeast Asia ahead of Vietnam's 13.7pctQUOTE KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian economy registered a stronger growth of 14.2 per cent in the third quarter(Q3) of 2022 from 8.9 per cent in Q2 2022.
This was underpinned by continued expansion in domestic demand, Bank Negara Malaysia governor Tan Sri Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus said.
Nor Shamsiah said while there were base effects from the negative growth in Q3 2021, growth was also underpinned by improvements in labour market and income conditions, as well as ongoing policy support.
The country's exports remained supported by strong demand for electronic and electrical (E&E) products, she added.
"The recovery of inbound tourism lent further support to economic activity. By sector, the services and manufacturing sectors continued to drive growth,' she said at a press conference of the GDP figures here today.
More to come Inb4 kenapa tak puji kerajaan?

What’s the Q on Q change? Low base effect due to absolutely dismal Q3 performance back in last year
Topkek UPDATE: 😂 On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally-adjusted basis, the economy grew by a mere 1.9% this Q3 (even lower than last quarter, 2Q2022: 3.5%).

Seems like economist folk here still have dilemma using YOY or QOQ for the growth progress measurement, some say QOQ better for businesses report and goal setting strategy for yearly analysis, and some say YOY better for country report in general...😉

you need to take inflation into consideration bcos of inflation, price going up, same quantity but the total price will be higher, so it could be an illusion

Every year can intentionally create high inflation so that GDP looks good.
