Hi guys, in July 2022, PM announced 50% stamp duty exemption for first home buyer for property above 500k, from July till Dec 2022

Recently bought a house, and found out from lawyer that the exemption is still yet to be gazzetted, no black n white rules, and we still have to pay in FULL.

Seems like a JANJI KOSONG for me. And now they plan to discuss 2023 total exemption with the previous announcement yet to put into place after so many months

Any idea when will the exemption will be gazzetted? and if we pay in full now, will be get refunded in future (i highly doubt so). Tats a huge fee difference involved for me.

Until now no gazette so have to pay full for sub-sale cases. For developer cases, it falls under HOC but that has also stopped. However developers are offering to absorb the stamp duty from their own pocket. This happened when I bought a landed property and developer absorb both loan and transfer stamp duty and fees. Now I am not sure whether developer's are absorbing it...

fully exempted stamp duty for HOC campaign ended already and not renewed for this year. But some developers want to clear stock so they bear the stamp duty.
