I'm getting an EMG 81 for my LTD Viper 50, and I'm wondering if it can be connected to the basic 250k pots if I leave the tone and volume knobs at 10? What effect will it have on my sound?

Thanks.

No you can't..... you'll have to get 2 seperate pots...... I read it could theoretically be done in Guitar World. Will find the article and repost it.

It only has one volume and one tone knob though. What do you recommend I do?

if you need the tone, you need a dual concentric pot, which is abit expensive.
that is 2 pots in one, with 1 inner and 1 outer knob.

250/500k dual concentric pots are easy to find.
the 25k dual concentric pots needed for the EMG is abit harder to find, easiest way which isnt that easy is to order it direct from EMG.

else, obviously just have 2 volume controls.

2 volume controls... I could live with that. So the entire installation should go hitch free? How much would the 25K pot cost?
