Unfortunately, there’s a big gap since TVB went downhill from late 90’s onwards.

The last movie star that came out from TVB is Louis Koo and that was back in the 90’s.

The leading man of TVB in the 90’s who did not go out to movies are still leading man in TVB today.

There are a few younger leading man in TVB today but they are just not movie star quality level.

Performed badly in mainland box office run. Apparently this type of movie doesn't appeal that much to their audience.

Pity him... invested loads of money and time into this movie.

Will support him by watching this movie upon its release in TVBox, of course....

HK movie industry deserved this outcome after years and years of letting all these "Ah Gor Ah Jie" control, exploit, and took up all the opportunities for themselves without leaving any for the young stars.

Now all these old stars are about to retire after earning loads of money and fame, suddenly the HK movie industry found themselves without any new rising stars to fill that void. They scramble to build back that talents gap, but its already too late as ppl has move on to other platform and not interested with HK movie productions anymore.

Its gonna take them at least 2 generations to rebuild.

Basically the whole entertainment industry of HK became stagnant after 2000. Movies, TV series and music all was living in past glories. The rise of Korean entertainment industry affected HK badly. Then China entertainment industry popped up and today they can stand alone without needing HK anymore.

Warriors of Future has grossed a total of US$110 million worldwide combining its box office gross from Hong Kong (US$9.9 million),[18] and China (US$100.59 million).

I think it did not do too badly in China but the movie was too costly to make and needed total box office of US$150 million to break even.

I think by selling to Netflix, Louis Koo might have break even from his investment.

Look at how much China contribute to the box office.

This movie is HK highest grossing movie at US$9.9 million but it pales in comparison to China’s box office.

Even if this movie opens in Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan and is a box office hit, the total gross won’t even contribute much compared to China.

let unker know if its good, hope unker is wrong.

It is kinda sad that Malaysia is losing its place in the global arena... our gdp is just too small and we lose even to Singapore.

all the funds go to cgi, leaving less budget for script development usually

of coz there are cases where the cgi works with the story line and makes a movie great. but it's few and far in between

A Chinese romantic comedy movie over CNY run would have make more than this... no wonder Louis Koo like so kesian beg ppl go support this movie in various variety show and social media channel. Its not easy for him as not many ppl willing to invest in HK movie production these days.

Unfortunately, the youngsters are unknown. So, the investors won’t want to take risks on unknowns. It’s not like the 80’s or 90’s when HK movie industry is big enough to try our new people.

It’s also an investment from Loius Koo himself. He is basically doing his best to keep HK movie industry afloat. It’s his pet project as he has always been fan of sci-fi.

Not bad la for a Sci-Fi HK movie, A+ for efforts, effects and action scenes

Story wise a bit meh... but the mecha action scenes near the end is top notch, very near to Hollywood quality already

don't expect too much then you won't be disappointed
