you can get a simple kurta at places like Kamdar for under RM100. Just get a simple cotton one, preferably in a light color and it should be good enough for most indian themed functions. I got one and have used it for 2-3 functions. Also no need any elaborate dry cleaning for simple cotton Kurta's can throw in the washing machine and iron.
