I'm looking for an unlimited mobile data plan for 3 users.

So far the best plan I can find is Unifi Air, unlimited data with no FUP, speed up to 20Mbps, RM79/month, no contract.

I need to share the internet to 3 users, what is the best way to do it?

Option 1: Insert the sim card to my phone, and use my phone as a wifi hotspot, the downside is my phone's battery will kaput quickly.

Option 2: Insert the sim card into a 4G wireless router/pocket wifi, but I'm not sure if this will work, some say I need to buy a router with modded firmware?

20 Mbps รท 4 users = 5 Mbps per user...

Go for it... use for one month to test... if not happy, terminate that UniFi Air and move on to next options that is to pay "rental" for UniFi Fibre from neighbors...

Alternatively...

The problem is all fibre internet comes with 24 months contact, we only need the broadband for less than 12 months.

Don't be so confident you will get a permanent 20Mbps , all the time. Speed depends on time & number of "Unifi" users around your area.

Also if you are going to go for Unifi, please check first your coverage area for Unifi Air
If you are unlucky and only Unifi Mobile signal is the strongest, then your average speed is less than 5Mbps.

https://unifi.com.my/check-coverage - And uncheck "4G" and "5G" option.

Previously I was using "Option 1" using old 4G phone is connected to phone charger constantly.
Then later I bought standalone 4G router during Lazada sales - and later on I plug it to a TPLINK (Unifi) WIFI Router.

Hence for best performance, it is recommended go for Option 2 as the WIFI signal strength is stronger and reception is better.

Do understand that if you are going this route - you cannot expect all 3 users to do heavy downloading simultaneously. Akin like fitting 6 people in a Myvi and expect the car to accelerate quickly. Worse still if the tower is overcrowded, good luck.

Hence thats why - When my wifey uses Netflix on our Home WIFI, I use my own hotspot & data on my phone . Then my son would use my wife's phone to watch his Youtube - since its unlimited also.

contract tie to user, not address.
meaning, when u relocate, relocate to places that your ISP has service, u can request to relocate ur line.
got small relocation fees, but will not extend your contract.

of, if u're in the 5G coverage area, YES wireless fiber is as good as u can get for now.

Unifi Air user here, and no, you will not get the 20Mbps steadily, it's either 5-13Mbps fluctuate depends your area network congestion.

Not to mention the upload speed, 2-5Mbps.

If one of your user just upload a story or share photo, all your other users internet access just becomes not responding.

You're welcome. Been using it since February. Lucky enough was in the 5g coverage. I hotspot my phone to everything at the moment hehe eg macbook, android box, phones, even my car android player too.
