Threw them on 2nd day of CNY and rode to genting.
Felt comfortable doesn't feel like it hinders my riding.

Maybe interms of abrasion resistant not the best.
Hopefully good enough for daily commute from Puchong to Subang Bestari.

So thanks everyone for your input and advice to me newbie rider.

P/S: I will attempt to upgrade for more abrasive resistant and amour in the future.

Ahh same time as my wife albeit a few weeks back.

Still at the 250km mark, now it's at Rawtech for the next 1 month for some custom work.

Rear bracket plus some other minor stuff. Need a custom one coz she carries a huge tailpack & need to accommodate the rear dashcam.

Nice! May I ask how tall is your wife? Did she ever felt that the slightly lean forward position of trident have put some stress on her hand while riding? I totally did not notice that during test ride, but once I got the bike for some time I start to feel pain on my hand. I am thinking about adding bar riser to help alleviate that. Still finding a local shop to install the riser hmm.gif

She's 160cm tall. She discovered the same thing - she's used to the upright riding position of her 700 CLX and while the 2 test rides she did on the Trident went fine, her short ownership quickly revealed the same thing u discovered. She's getting Rawtech to look into adding bar risers to address this slight issue.

Her height is very close to me. I am about 164 and I'm thinking a offset riser might do the trick but worried about the cable length, and needing a modification which I hope to avoid. Is it alright if you could let me know which bar riser she ended up getting so I can use the info as reference?

Corsa S123... used them on my old Z250 n thought they were amazing

i see alot of kapchais using it on the rear pairing it with the Corsa S123 sport rain on the front coz the sport rain doesnt last as long.
*
My bike came with s123 when i bought it, didn't know they were that great. The only reason why i changed it was because i didn't know much about the corsa branding. Didn't k now it was so highly praised in the local market laugh.gif

QUOTE(alexei @ Feb 19 2024, 01:51 PM)
Corsa (Platinum R26, Cross S etc)
Pirelli Rosso Sport
Metzeler Sportec Street
IRC IZ-S99

also make sure fork and absorber are in good condition - good brake, good tyre, poor suspension also a recipe for disaster during emergency braking
*
Alright, thank you for the suggestions icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Feb 19 2024, 02:01 PM)
You might want to add your LC has a big brake kit and upgraded brake master Paired with subpar tyres on wet roads, it's easy to lock up.
The S123 lasts quite a bit but I won't really say they are that good in the rain. I also don't like the zig zag centre groove on the S123.

Maybe the Corsa Sport Rain would be better.

Best wet tyres I've had was those old school Dunlop TT100 on my old EX5.

That said, i always thought Michilin would be a reliable tire choice since i had good experience with them on my cars. Guess not laugh.gif

Always favour a budget brand making premium offerings, than a premium brand making budget offerings.

Think about that for a sec will ya.

One is cutting cost to fit a price. The other is trying to make a better tyre but not charging so much.

Paid Rawtech a visit today to finalize with En. Azis the design of her custom rear rack. On the topic of the bar riser, he did note that the cables might start to tug at full lock and cause all sorts of problems. So he advised my wife against it.

Her 700 CLX died again Thursday night while riding home with me after dinner in Ara Damansara. 3rd lane in fast-moving traffic on the NKVE at 9pm, ignition cut out and lost power all of a sudden while cruising at highway speeds. Power was on but it refused to start. It was a harrowing experience coz she didn't not have the power to safely cut across 3 lanes of traffic into the emergency lane and the bike came to a stop in the middle of the friggin highway. Fortunately, the large truck behind her managed to stop in time and block the traffic for us to push the bike to the side of the highway. Called a tow truck and dumped the motherfucker at Mforce immediately afterward.

She was supposed to ride it to Satun with me next week. Looks like she'll have to make the trip on the back of my bike as a passenger.

Enough is enough, that bike is DONE. We'll cut our losses and flog it off immediately when it comes out of Mforce. Damn near killed both of us that nite.

We were at Oasis Square, meeting up with her old friend from grad school back in Guangzhou.

Kalau Satun tu, pi Pakbara la where else. Also we want to recce the ro-ro ferry service to Ko Lipe & Ko Lanta. The trip was supposed to give my wife her first experience riding her own bike across the border, but alas... tenggek kat belakang je la...

The Trident is ride-by-wire, I don't know if anyone custom-makes the wiring harness for that. At any rate, we wouldn't want to void the new bike's warranty so I guess that will have to wait.

Oh shit that's bad.

My loaner CLX had a dead throttle incident on Saturday. Fortunately, I was able to idle cruise back home at 10kmh....lucky no hills. I was just 1km from home as I just out to get breakfast.

Throttle completely dead, no response at all. After a few power cycles still the same. But I it came back alive after I plugged and unplugged the connection. Maybe a loose connection

Seems like Malaysia CLX700 is problematic, feel like CKD & QC issue. No wonder see so many CLX700 selling at iMotorbike.

Seldom see this CLX700 at China had issue complained by them.

Not the case. Coz 1.5 hours later when we arrived at Mforce, the bike could start again. But out there in the middle of the highway and by the side of the road, no joy.
