sport touring tyre, no confidence to lean more sweat.gif

tyre also feel more 'square'-ish compared to S21

That's on purpose by design.

Sport touring tyres put more emphasis on longevity, and one way to increase it is to increase centre contact area. More contact area means less force and better distribution of weight and wear. They are flatter by design.

Angel GT should be better than Angel ST?
if so, then should have enough grip to go until the edge once warm enough

QUOTE(Patent @ Feb 6 2024, 04:37 PM)
my tire mileage about 5000km only, dont see any squaring so far
*
depends on riding style
for me 5000km is way too early to tell

that's how i crashed
didn't have enough confident with the grip level
unless you're applying front brake mid corner or there's oil/sand, usually the rear will give away 1st during leaning
can feel that tail pulling the bike wide

tbh I'm not sure also, but yeah no dent inside and outside

Hmmm looks like you don't really lean too much in the corners and thus not comfortable with leaning too much when in a panic?

I ride my bike primarily to work but I try to layan corners on my way to work and back when I can. My tires looks like this.

It looks like so. On a flatter sport touring tyre, you should have no issues leaning to the edge without that much of a lean angle.

Tyres have usually more grip then you think. If faced with the potential of running wide, I rather take my chances of putting more lean angle and risk lowsiding the rear. Just dont overcorrect the low side, you might end up highsiding...which is a lot worst.

Always threshold brake into a corner, you don't want your front lowsiding.

yeah my rear tire did get into the sandy part of the curb edge, then it slide away
I think thats also the reason my front part of the bike dont get much damage, only the slider and also the exhaust got scratch a bit

So maybe what most probably happened is you ran the corner wide and low sided when your tire hit the sand. After this time to practise leaning in more so when shit hits the fan at least you know how to force the bike down more to tighten up the turn and prevent running wide.

food rider FB group frequently suggest maxfly maxxis and foxdry. serdang motor carries foxdry and starfield knight so you can try there.
i bought foxdry can't remember what model at serdang motor. a recommended model by food rider. but very thick, too hot and sweaty, end up using back my decathlon rain jacket.

womens riding jacket can also take a look at hodaka. their komine women jacket is quite cheap. rm300-400 IINM, better quality than benkia.

hhhmmm.... kinda looking for something yellow but will look at the other brands.

3-400 oso actually quite above budget... might look into the RM2xx ones from benkia considering my gf doesnt ride very often.. looking at gloves for her too.

So after asking y'all for advice on gear.

I bought these
user posted image

Threw them on 2nd day of CNY and rode to genting.
Felt comfortable doesn't feel like it hinders my riding.

Maybe interms of abrasion resistant not the best.
Hopefully good enough for daily commute from Puchong to Subang Bestari.

So thanks everyone for your input and advice to me newbie rider.

P/S: I will attempt to upgrade for more abrasive resistant and amour in the future.

just a thought, if your gf willing to ride with you, wouldn't it be better if she gets the better jacket, helmets and stuff between the two of you?
