QUOTE(Patent @ Feb 5 2024, 03:25 PM) That's on purpose by design.Sport touring tyres put more emphasis on longevity, and one way to increase it is to increase centre contact area. More contact area means less force and better distribution of weight and wear. They are flatter by design. |

QUOTE(Patent @ Feb 7 2024, 12:44 AM) gt2 is supposedly the upgraded version so yeah should be better It looks like so. On a flatter sport touring tyre, you should have no issues leaning to the edge without that much of a lean angle. if you say so, I need to regain my confidence to lean though.. now scared already Tyres have usually more grip then you think. If faced with the potential of running wide, I rather take my chances of putting more lean angle and risk lowsiding the rear. Just dont overcorrect the low side, you might end up highsiding...which is a lot worst. Always threshold brake into a corner, you don't want your front lowsiding. Patent liked this post

QUOTE(Patent @ Feb 8 2024, 09:30 PM) yeah my rear tire did get into the sandy part of the curb edge, then it slide away So maybe what most probably happened is you ran the corner wide and low sided when your tire hit the sand. After this time to practise leaning in more so when shit hits the fan at least you know how to force the bike down more to tighten up the turn and prevent running wide.I think thats also the reason my front part of the bike dont get much damage, only the slider and also the exhaust got scratch a bit Patent liked this post

So after asking y'all for advice on gear.
I bought these ![]() Threw them on 2nd day of CNY and rode to genting. Felt comfortable doesn't feel like it hinders my riding. Maybe interms of abrasion resistant not the best. Hopefully good enough for daily commute from Puchong to Subang Bestari. So thanks everyone for your input and advice to me newbie rider. P/S: I will attempt to upgrade for more abrasive resistant and amour in the future. |
