Hi,

I have an excel file with VBA codes, it take few hours run the macro.

1) It is possible to run this excel file on AWS(Amazon Web Services) ?
2) Can the code running process be completed in shorter time if using AWS ?

I don't mind to pay for the services.

i dont think u can run Excel Macro thru online

last time i remember even thru own MS sharepoint also cannot run these legacy macro code when open excel file directly on browser

u need to convert it to work with other like PowerBI

if your main goal is re-using existing and working Excel Macro with 0 code modification ; i think just get 1 VMWare or server that have more cores + 64 bit MS office pre-installed.. trigger it on specific time thru some automation tool or even by another vba script + task scheduler to refresh your excel data.

Please take this with a pinch of salt.

Excel VBA is a client side scripts. It requires MS Excel for execution, and probably can't run 100% in headless mode (meaning no UI interactions). I highly doubt it will work in the cloud.

Can I send you the excel file and you just run VBA codes on AWS ? And then just send me back the excel file(with generated results) after completion of code running process ?

LOL

TS - someone else asked rather similar question 1 year, 9 months ago -
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/6583131...ning-vba-on-aws

Just get the highest spec of ec2 compute has to offer and runs your excel there
https://aws.amazon.com/windows/products/ec2/
https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/instance-types/#Compute_Optimized
