Protege is a government scheme meant to help those who cant land their themselves a job. For 12 months u will do mostly clerical stuffs and depends on your boss. It was najib's brainchild and was known as SL1M (skim latihan 1 malaysia) before Pakatan Hancing rebrand it as Protege.

Imho, if you really cant secure any job atm, just take it but be as proactive as possible to gain as much experience that can help you to secure better offer.

Oh one more thing, depending on your luck, you might secure permanent post

Pleaseee bear in your mind, by the end of the programme, there’s NO GUARANTEE that u will be offered with permanent position.

Mystep and Protege is different scheme.

Once enroll in protege, you are basically a trainee. Allowance were given for 12 months.

Mystep, you are basically hired under contract basis. Got epf, socso etc.

Not sure which dept, cause i haven't received the offer letter yet, but maybe by this week. For now, I only know level 14 at maybank HQ jalan pudu. Are you a permanent staff or protege? But, as for me, they asked me to work at the office instead of wfh

I’ve handled more than 10 protege trainers in the past 2 years.


What can I say, many didn’t make the mark.
Many not willing to learn.
Many want it easy.

Those that performed, I absorbed as contract staff, and if he/she endure, I offered permanent position.

Wont get permenant post unless you are super high achieving.
