Hi house is doing reno and have already done plaster ceiling and floor tiling at living hall. Would like to make a "fake wall" cover up the whole staircase.
Wanna get a simple fake wall, no need fancy design or rolling drawer. May need to open a small hole to attach TV mount directly to the staircase wall. And wanna put a door there for storeroom.
When talk to cabinet guy they dont recommend use plywood / melamine as partition and suggested me to plaster guy. Claiming it will be not nice and asking me to up budget to get a cabinet instead. And if put door on a plain wall the frame may unable to support unless I add in storage cabinet at the side. I confuse what he trying to explain.
When talk to plaster guy they ask to do cabinet claiming using plaster for the fake wall is fragile and if mop floor 1-2 time the water may damage the plaster.
Havent get quotation but all seems like dont wanna do and pass to one another.
Anyone could advise? TQ
