Many words i see but the most important RM amount is not mentioned.

The simplest way is just put a TV panel (is that what its called?) up to ceiling height that would costs around 1K for a simple design.
Dont think u can make a store room (between TV panel and staircase u mean?) unless the hall area is big enough, and depends on ur budget as well.

Without budget really cant say anything.

If u feeling DIYish u can always get a proper hardwood and self mount it to floor and ceiling not that expensive.


Here some sample of the tv panel ofcourse u need a full height to hide the stairs.

I would rather prefer to see stairs railing than hiding it, coz i think it would make the stairs unattractive and the house look smaller.
