Hi all,

I am currently using 30Mbps from ISP “A” that I hooked up Ethernet cable (from a router, of course) directly to my PC.

I recently subscribe to another 500Mbps fiber package from ISP “B”, which will be install in a few days.

Can I connect to BOTH internet connection from ISP “A” (Ethernet cable) AND ISP “B” (wireless) at the same time? (my motherboard has built in Wi-Fi support)

Really need some experts’ advise.

Thanks in advanced. notworthy.gif

The long story:

The new service from ISP "B" will be arrange to a location (router placement) that Ethernet cable is not convenient to connect to my PC directly. So connect wirelessly is my only option.

Why keep 2 ISP at the same time? Because the slower 30Mbps ISP "A" do not have FTTH at my condo, I cannot upgrade to higher speed. The reason I keep their service is because I need the unlimited mobile data for myself and all my supplementary line. tongue.gif

U want exaggeration lines which give u full total A+B line or load balancing mode? ( Google it) . Depends what u want it.

The pc can connect from both line and going live according which port can get 1st handshake. By default in os setting and software. So sometime when u turn on yr pc w/o restarting yr internet. U might connect to slower line or cannot get internet at all. So u need fine tune everything.

yes you can ....

1. have one lan and one wifi adaper..
3. have 2 lan
2. have 2 wifi adadpter

but you can only use one bandwidth at a time per app.

I was thinking if I can combine both lines, such as what you stated above, the A+B method.

Anyway, if this is really troublesome, I can end up using only 1 connection either only A or B, no big deal, but just curious and want to learn. biggrin.gif

Oh I see, so not what I thought can combine or add-up 30Mbps + 500Mbps = 530Mbps internet speed? laugh.gif

Sorry, I am noob in this. blush.gif

The exaggeration part is the hardest. There no way just plug and play. Example, u know idm rite? How u can seting it concurrence connection in given time per download. By default and how idm work's nature, 1 addrs and split the file across but not THE IP where the file located. What I mean is yr DHCP from both port is not the same so the ISP.

So some hw and software, even pay service come to play

The easiest way without breaking the bank. Set yr browser to just using slow line, and yr download , streaming, on9 game to use faster lane. And that's fine tune I mean.

Wow~ I think I need a day to digest and do research on what you are explaining here.
Looks like not as simple as I was thought, just connect both lines start using.

My dilemma is: I like the stable of direct cable connection, but the speed is slow, while the faster connection will have to rely on wireless. doh.gif

We playing around with 2 nic (lan card) card back in 2010, and custom software. It doable, but as I says need a really2 fine tune with cherry on top. And the custom software, I donno if I can find it again cos I forgot it name.

Fine tune yr pc browser, os setting, and yr hardware setting is starter.

U should put a guide while at it. Lol

Ethernet to my own Unifi 30Mbps and wifi to my neighbours 30Mbps, also Unifi.

The key hardware that make this work is the hAP Lite?

batter 2 isp same place with lan cable place table

1st isp 30mbps had old placed you computer lan cable
2nd isp 500mbps stay old place no need another location place will trouble

because if both isp different place if use wifi can't full speed 500mbps you get below 200mbps depend

batter 2 isp same place safety can easy same time 30mbps + 500mbps get 530mbps

No worries, get a Mikrotik router, mess around with it, lotsa googling and you'll be networking expert in no time. nod.gif

The key one was the RB2011 router. It was basically configured as a load balancer for the 2 ISP connections. The hAP Lite was just used to connect to next door neighbour's wifi.

Can mikrotik do A+B = max speed? As per my understand, it has 2 deferrence and saperate gateway.i understand what load balancing do.

Yes if have at least 2 connections to the same server and the router assigns the connections to WAN_A and WAN_B respectively. Speedtest.net, for example, will get 60Mbps. Speedtest uses 4 connections, I think. My neighbour and I were on 30Mbps at that time. This is using PCC (per connection classifier) for address and port. Causes problems with banks though. Cos the bank may see 2 different IPs connecting to it for the same session.

Speedtest.net is so simplify the exaggerate process. Once I try using both WiFi and mobile data in my hp and it give A+B. So do in pc, but the process cannot be duplicated in IDM. Further reading it has to do with IP the files has and the concurrence connection. U may read further if u gugel it.

Sorry been typing in hp so mafan.

It depends how how your load balancing is performed. Per address per port, per port only, per address only, etc... Depending on this, in certain situations, it will only go thru one of the WANs so no speed increase.
