I am sure some /K here are deal hunters when it comes to shopping for luggages. What say you that is considered as cheap cheap, but strong, formidable and reliable?

Saw URBANlite on Shopee, price even cheaper than AMERICAN TOURISTER. Has anyone tried them before?

I think bare minimum is American Tourister.

Otherwise just sign up credit card and get free cheapo luggage bag.

I am surprised most American Tourister luggages have increased in price, some even double than a year AGO. Thank you USD.

In Malaysia, everything is expensive. For the same price, you can get samsonite (on sale) anywhere else.

I recently bought Hummer which has 3 bags (24', 20', as well as a backpack) for RM280+ (Zalora with new acc discount)

You can check it out if you just want a luggage back that can be wrecked and you won't feel as heartache.

Quality wise was above my expectation to be honest, with the wheels and overall built quality. When I dropped the order in my head was really really bad since considering roughly RM130 each bag.

First time hearing this brand, yea it's made by Samsonite but they are even cheaper than American Tourister. Build up looks solid.

Sometimes at the airport (those carrying Rimowa luggages especially, wearing branded clothes but in normal AirAsia queuing line), you can't tell whether it's genuine or fake.

Also agree with these 2 posts above. If you're not travelling often, then perhaps not necessary to splurge.
My colleague bought a Rimowa Off White luggage bag but is now collecting dust as she doesn't travel so often.

But why Rimowa luggage bag? You are just making yourself a target for theft or missing bags while in transit.

I would usually use a good quality luggage bag but with some weird brand that nobody have heard of that comes out of a factory in China. It’s better to avoid theft and someone making off with your luggage bag.

And the only branded clothes that is fine are those that don’t display any logos or labels on the outside. The materials are nicer and softer in more expensive clothes but make sure that there is no labels or prints that announce the brand.

American Tourister luggage price has increased a lot in the span of 1 year. In fact, I just got 1 American Tourister 30inch exactly late last year and now the price has increased by about 50%! Thank you USD

This is the exact same logical explanation that I have in mind when it comes to expensive luggage unless you are flying first class or reputable airlines.

I think branded luggage makes sense for smaller size/hand carry - especially if you are on a business trip, so you can show it around. If you are a partner of consultancy firm or high position of some investment bank or someone who has made in life, I guess it's logical to show everyone especially if you are walking into a meeting room. That's my high flyer status!

You fly first class also you still need to check in your oversized luggage. Unless you want to pull around 2-3 carry on bags that can fit underneath your seat.

Most people in business class also travel inconspicuously. Very dull brown and black clothings with no labels and very normal looking luggage bags.

If you are a high flyer, you can either store your luggage on your private jet or store it at the hotel concierge while you go for your board meeting. No need to lug it around like some poorfag.

I had it happened twice. Both times were to Chicago with connecting flights in Narita. Looks like you have not been travelling enough if it has not happened to you yet.

And do you know how shitty it is to be without your luggage bags for a few days? You either rush to the store to buy new clothes and toiletries or you wear stinky underwear for a few days while they locate your bags.

Nobody cares about looking good. Everyone wants to stay low profile. You must be an idiot or poorfag if you want to look good while travelling and become a mark for conmen and pickpockets in Rome or Athens.

You probably have not been traveling enough if you think that you need to look good in business class bar area on board a plane. Most of them would be dressed for comfort.

The only ones dressed smartly are pilots or co-pilots who on occasion would take up the empty seats/beds in business class to have a quick nap.

And don’t get me started by hotels like Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton. Even older hotels like Raffles or Peninsular also people don’t dress to kill. Everyone is jet lag at reception and the last thing they want to do is to impress the concierge service. Just take my freaking bags to my room already and introduce me to the features in my room so I can tip you and you go your own way.

I am not sure on the sub RM100.

I have Shopee voucher, so ended up getting the biggest size from Urbanlite (Universal Traveller). There is a small issue on one of the wheel which I only noticed later on, which is quite a hassle. Other than that all good.

I recommend perhaps checking physically on the store instead (a bit more premium) so you can test up right down left on the quality.
