In the end of the day, businesses need to profit.

5G is pretty much a rich man's toy.

To which Telco?

Frankly speaking, only M and D has better 4G speed in my area, while M has speed nearly 120Mbps and D has 160Mbps...

I think many missed the context, Digi has already stated that they will announce more updates soon regarding those who are on plans that aren't listed for 5G yet.

Logically, cheaper plans such as Postpaid 40 with 20GB data doesn't seem enough for 5G usage, hence there will be some revamps for sure.

If you're satisfied with what you're using currently on 4G, there's really no need to rush and port out just for 5G, I'm on U Mobile and I can say that 5G is still generally unstable at current stage, hence there's really nothing special aside from bragging about speed tests with friends.

My suggestion would be to wait until there are much better offers, especially from 2023 onwards, just my 2 cents.

digi prepaid is the best and pocket friendly
plan as cheap as RM8/month
any internet plan will extended prepaid validity.
plan without *hotspot* kouta is hotspot tethering modem friendly

I do agree their prepaid plans are rather cheap, but their postpaid ones aren't.

Try download test files instead of relying on speedtest

300Mbps is still 4G speed

not normal.
maybe there's a bug in the phone firmware.

under normal behavior, will drop to 4G when in idle, but as soon as u use, shud go bck to 5G.
but in certain condition, where the phone firmware deemed the 5G signal it's getting not strong enough, it will go bck to 4G cuz the setting is, strong 4G > weak 5G.

iPhone 12/13 series support 5G, but neither Malaysian telco support 5G for iPhone at this moment
Need to wait for Apple to release new carrier update

Just hope we need not have to wait too long. Once they have settled the 5G release for India then hope it will be our turn.

Am curious too since DNB map just updated showing 5G in most big towns in East M is live. Too bad I don't have a 5G-compatible plan, can't verify. My friend on Xpax Prepaid eligible plan can't get 5G signal though.

Have you "purchased" the 5G Booster plan at MyDigi app yet?
To begin with, does your DIGI plan support 5G?

I'm using Digi 90 plan, and i subscribe to digi 5G booster at RM0.

Setting wise, i use automatic 5G - not always on....

Experience: so far so good, not facing any issues they switch between 4G and 5G.

For setting data mode, which one should I set?
1) allow more data on 5G
2) standard
3) low data mode
