#### The story ####

I am pairing my build with 12th gen i9, thus surveying a motherboard balanced in pricing and performance need some reading, analyze and definitely Youtube is your friend ! nod.gif

That said, I wish to write this POST as a special SHOUT OUT to my chosen - MSI Mortar B660m motherboard thumbup.gif

As a new PC builder, the whole building process with this motherboard is simply and easy.
- The manual is informative and easy to understand.
- The motherboard is sturdy and strong; this allows new PC builder like me to install all the components down with confidence
- The VRM heatsink height provides sufficient clearance for air cooler install, my peerless assasins 120SE fitted perfectly rclxms.gif
- The built-in heatsink for M.2 SSD is a nice touch and aesthetically pleasing too!

On a technical side:
- Decent VRM heatsink performance.
- DDR4 support, this is a big pro on pricing budget considering the pricing of DDR5.
- Bios default factory setup with secure boot and tpm2 enabled. Installing Windows11 is hassle free.

Overall, I am very pleased with this motherboard. In my opinion, easily to be the best-in-class design and highly recommend wub.gif .

thank you for your kind words! Yep two bottom fans are there now (pic link below). Had some problem in beginning to fit in two bottom fans due to conflict with front panel connector but all is well now .. 2 intake, 2 exhaust

nr200p case? seems like something prebuild OEM usually do like dell/hp/lenovo pairing a normal (non k) i9 with others mid components. nonetheless, enjoy your SFF build
*
Thank you !! the case is Tecware fusion, it fits mATX board. nr200p is beautiful but it is mini ITX only
for the cpu, i should spell out the i9 is a gift. with current config definitely there is room for upgrade in future!

lol, continue to enjoy ur slowpoke desktop.

I would say 16gb as a starter for now, i played rdr2 and witcher3 at 1440p fine so far, at least no stuttering or lag. anyhow, if needed will just add some more RAM

Nicely balanced specs, tho asking if you are going to do some productivity work or streaming on it too coz otherwise that i9 is quite the overkill for the rest of ur PC specs, even tho its a nonK. Still it has a lot of potential, the mobo is fine and with that CPU cooler do up the PL2 to 200W otherwise if purely for gaming on stock 65W TDP ur not gonna see much difference from a 12600K

Thank you! yea my original intention was preparing a i5 12th gen build with abovementioned hardware but got a surprise i9 as a gift. totally agree there are plenty of headroom in i9 with my current rig. not streaming nor video rendering, just photoshop work and cpu usage is quite low from what i observed during my work .. i do not notice lag or stutter when gaming rdr2 and witcher3 at 1440p too .. but anyhow thanks for the suggestion will look into it
