Hello, I'm 31, have no real work experiences (nothing contractual) and have a law degree with third class. I tried to apply for some legal firms but I'm always ghosted or get offers for no-pay positions instead. I am not sure what kind of job I can do under such circumstances. I think not having any work experiences is the main issue but I'm not even sure since I didn't get any call for interviews.

If you need any other information I'd be more than happy to provide them. Please advise me, thank you.

That's hard. Best is to just accept the no pay jobs to get experience. That's more valuable for you right now

No experience also how the employer going to know they can depend on your and you won't become a deadweight to them?

If you're not sure you want to stay in the same industry, go work in another one. Maybe you'll find something that you like even more than the current one.

At what age did you grad? Law degree from which uni? If you don’t mind, you can always start from the bottom.

Or you can try freelancing. For example, you can register your own legal certificate on some apps, and then when other people come to ask you legal questions, you can get paid for consulting.

It can be challenging to find a job with limited work experience and a third-class degree, especially in a competitive field like law. However, there are still options available to you. Here are a few ideas to consider:

Consider taking on internships or volunteer work in order to gain some practical experience in the legal field. This can help you build a more impressive resume and give you an opportunity to demonstrate your skills and abilities to potential employers.

Look for entry-level positions in related fields such as legal research, document review, or paralegal work. These types of positions may not require as much experience and can provide a good starting point for building your career.

Consider taking on a different type of job to gain some valuable skills and experiences that can be transferred to the legal field. For example, you can work as a customer service representative, administrative assistant or any other role that will improve your communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Networking can be a valuable tool in your job search. Reach out to people in the legal profession, including lawyers, paralegals, and other legal professionals, and let them know you're interested in finding a job in the field. They may be able to provide valuable advice or refer you to job openings.

Consider building your own business or venture. It may take more time and effort, but it can be a good way to create your own opportunities and achieve financial freedom.

Keep in mind that finding a job can be a long and difficult process, but by being persistent and open to different opportunities, you can increase your chances of finding something that's a good fit for you.

Man... I don't know your circumstances, but hey... At least you made it this far. Pat your back for making all this way and also acknowledging that your situation is difficult and asking for guidance now.

In my personal opinion, the law industry has a tough culture and quite saturated. Since, they will have a bad perception of you at first, it is gonna be tough.

Hence, I believe that the next best option if you don't mind going other field is to try out physical labour. Perhaps F&B as I see that there are quite some hiring open and the pay is higher than some "office" or "fresh grad" work. Seriously, it may not be as prestigious as those jobs due to society's perception, but I do look up to their tenacity. Especially the F&B and retail as I have family members that are in these fields.

Do sales in retail (better if it is well-branded) or F&B (focus on certain cuisines or cafe or some sort of niche). This imo can give you some prospect and I have seen some managers with decent salaries in few years time. However, working hours are quite tough, but I believe this is always an option.

If you found some trades interesting like mechanic, plumber, aircon man, electric man, also has opportunities. Learn along the way and eventually build your own client pool for some side income and slowly start your own team.

That's my newbie advice. I am young, so I am not that experienced yet and I don't have the full context of who you are, but this is just my humble opinion.

All the best and take care!

3rd class and NO Working experience is not an EXCUSE for not getting a job with pay.

Stop using these to make your self feels better and hope for best tomorrow.

My SPM only have 3 passed © and all failed, but I never give up and keep fight for what I want!

Now, ask your self
- when you grad
- how u survive after u grad
- how hard you wanted a job, how many resume sent in the past 3 months
- would you consider if the job isn't relate to your degree

You would have answer after you cleared above, fyi I applied 200 job in a month via jobstreet for my current company wink.gif
