Agree, a lot of tire shop will use scare tactics to make people to change their tires earlier even if it is still able to use. If drive in bad road condition & always under the sun, minor crack and peel is normal. Even my Pirelli Scorpion Verde also suffer similar condition but almost 1 year+ using it also no issues.
The structure of the tyre comprising steel radial plies and nylon/canvass belts is intact and performing as designed.
Heck, the tyre structure is not even 'punished' with a minor or major impactful collision .
Tyre manufacturers do NOT recommend tyre replacement base on collision or impact, why would a
cosmetic kacang putih abrasion on OP's tyre sacrificial (rubber) layers justify a tyre replacement????
It doesn't even justify minor or major 'repair' or 'touch up'.
Hence, what we have here is purely fear mongering without technical and structural basis.
Note: Are punctured tyres (with structural steel plies and belts being punched through by iron nails and screws) being typically recommended for tyre replacement???
