Just read an online news article about Apple updates to permanently disable all unlocked iphones carrying a different GSM sim card. I was thinking about asking my sis where she is studying in san fransisco to get me an iphone 8GB, it's pretty cheap and sound more worthy then the ipod touch. I know that when the iphone arrives to Malaysia, probably second quarter or late first 2008 would be pretty expensive. If I ask her to get it for me, she could ask some guy in Chinatown to unlock the system, which is a great. Should I still get an iphone now? I mean, updates isn't that important for a iphone right? And obviously I think that Malaysians wouldn't buy any music from itunes. Please give some advice, I never had any Apple products in my life. Do you really want iPhone? If you do, i would let you buy it. But if you scared it will get bricked, don't buy. Better wait for 2008. Just my 20cents.

My permanently inoperable iPhone is operating permanently well, thank you very much. What's this permanently inoperable thing's about anyway? Scare tactics and boogeyman-under-the-bed ploy by Apple to stop people from unlocking the iPhone. It's not hard to deduce these things.
